Really nice wedges. Cool film. However, could not see the shape of the laser milled micro groves. On their newly released CG17 wedge for Japan, these are not straight lines anymore but jagged. See their web site - change the region to Japan in the upper right corner.

I saw and hit most of the stuff today. The Classic XL and classic fwy have the single worst alignment aid in history. (Classic XL is within a whisker of being as deep as the 290.) With any luck, the alignment aid will change before the clubs are released. Just horrible.

The irons, well, different. Bigger than I thought. All of them are definitely GI irons. You can see the cavity in the TT 6 iron, for example. I like the matchability aspect. Gonna be a lot of people splitting sets. Lofts and lies are perfect matches for all 3 sets.


LOVE the wedges. Love them. Awesome look. Cleaner than what they are replacing. Gonna be a huge year for wedges! Putters as well. Cleveland is killing the sub $100 putter category. New putters look clean and gorgeous.

Didn't see the Custom driver. Gonna be a bit before I get to hit it.

The black looks sharp. Kind of reminds me of when TM rolled out the R7 Superquad. I personally like the original Classics color scheme better, mostly because it is totally diffrent from anything else out there, but I know it's not a look for everyone. The Black will probably market better.

That dot--if they leave it on whoever decides that should get fired. It's too big, and too white, and horrible.

D4 @ 45 inches. Kind of heavy and short. I like D4 @ 46.5 inches. The weight says adjustable though...

I used to literally laugh at the face depth on the Classic. But just today I picked up a 9.5 with "310" stamped on the toe and noticed the face was noticably less deep than those marked 270 and 290. I loved the look! So....two questions:
a) can I get a 310 with 10.5* loft?
b) will the all black models be similar, i.e, the 310 having the shallower face?

Yes, you can get the current Classics 310 in 10.5*. That is the model that I'm gaming right now and its been a fantasic driver for me. I can't speak to what the Black will be like, but judging from the pictures, my guess is it will be similar to this year's Classics with the obvious exception of the Custom being adjustable.

Robo, you sure love that Black MR. Vader! My buddy picked up the 310 and it's a beauty! Now he has the original but I love that DF..... reminds me of the good ole' R510DF Proto ( best driver TM ever made), I still bring out the old gun every once and a while. Still just as long as my current gammer just not as forgiving as these NEW drivers being introduced! Cleveland has a winner here!
