Anyone living in the Myrtle Beach area

I am a all things golf obsessed new freshmen in college trying to plan the next ten years (Yeah sounds kinda naive) or so of his life (Would love to find that girl that loves golf as much as I do and start a family). I am going to school for Turfgrass Management at Ohio State, that being said I can intern at any course in the country (they usually offer you a job afterward according to what I've heard), but I was considering Myrtle Beach as it is known for its golf. Anybody that has any ideas let me know or any Supers or the likes their opinions thanks.

2 year or 4 year program at Ohio State, Major? Minor? Just curious

2 year at the Wooster branch my degree will be Turfgrass Management (with a Concentration in Golf Course Management)

Thanks, looked him up he will be a good contact if I need him, found out last week at school that there is a student membership to the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and with it you can look at job postings and internships.

Well, keep in mind that there are a fair number of turf management schools in North and South Carolina and those students are looking for jobs/internships as well. And they almost certainly have more of an "in" with the business down there than you would. Plus, while it is known for golf, it's known for a lot of mediocre golf. Very few courses down there that are really highly acclaimed, Dunes, True Blue, Caledonia and that's about it. Unless you just want to go to Myrtle Beach for a summer, and I can't blame you for that (whether you're a guy or girl the 'scenery' is high quality either way) then I, personally, would try to get a gig at a high profile private facility, just for the networking and resume potential. In the Carolinas, the courses I'd shoot for would be like Eagle Point (Wiliminton), Wade Hampton (Cashiers), Charlotte CC, Greensboro CC, Quail Hollow, CC of North Carolina, Secession, Harbor Town, Kiawah, any of The Cliffs courses...just kind of think about something like that.
