Sweet looking putter. I agree that you will likely end up shedding some grams to get that in balance at 34"

Excellent first handmade - next time I'd thicken the neck a little. Seems to look a bit spindly at the moment. You could also do a shaped round flow neck - that would fit this head a bit more I think.

Nice work, would you mind please revealing the source of your stainless plumber's neck hosel?
Thanks!

This is the same adapter I modified (as it was a little crude) and ended up using. 0.370 at both ends. I bought mine from diamondgolf in the UK.

Used the putter today and made quite few decent putts with it. Pity the course and greens were so wet. Made more short putts than normal as well. Maybe just the honeymoon period but we'll see how it goes when the greens improve a little :)

The only thing I am going to change is the leather stitchback grip. The stitchback just doesn't feel natural in my hands.

awesome putter. there's no better feeling than gaming something you have built or had a hand in customizing. Every club in my bag was either built or re-built or customized by myself and it certainly adds a different feel to every swing when you know you built the club yourself.

Same here, nearly all of my bag is none-standard in some way or another. I have just received a brass billet in the post so watch out for putter number 2!!

Looks great, weld work is great, by looks of your skills, with access to a lathe u could prob make a nicer neck, that looks good, just think its a little thin looking, by no means knocking, it looks great.... And understand the frustration as a machinist. Looks great! If I only could get motivation to use the tools I use every day at work to make something I use almost everyday after work.....hope she rolls as good as it looks, great job!

The neck is a little thin to be honest but you cant really tell from address. Similiar to some of the Kirk Currie milled putters from a few years ago, they had really thin necks. I did try and turn a neck using my mini-mill but it proved a little difficult (also I had never used my mill as a lathe before)

I did talk to someone about making me some plumbers necks but the cost was rather high. This would mean CAD, proto, etc etc etc which means time and money that I cannot justify as yet. You never know though.

With regards to the welding, my mate is a welder with a lot of experience and this was the first putter he had ever done....a very neat job to with no cleaning up around the weld at all.

I would just love a bigger mill to speed things up! I am not a machinist by any means, but it does run in my family, and I am learning all the time.

What are your thoughts on adding the plumbers neck you installed on the custom putter on a Scotty Golo? I like the epoxy idea and was wondering if anyone had seen someone else try this before. Any suggestions or prior experience would be appreciated. Keep up the great work!

By all accounts that is what these adapters are for, they only convert 90 degree hosel bores though. They are a little crude and poorly finished to pop into a nicely milled head though. A guy who posted above - the one with the carbon fibre insert as his avatar is trying to develop a nicely milled hosel and neck, PM him he may be able to help

You are doing what many on here would love to be able to do, make your own putter from raw materials! This is something that I would love to do one day. I would love to be able to mill my own putter. I do not have the resources or the expertise to make this happen at this time. Bravo to you for making this happen. The putter looks great. This being your first time doing this, it looks amazing. You are learning as you go and I am envious. Keep up the great work.

Awesome job! Hope to see pics of the 2nd as well :)

Just tidying my workshop at the min.

Also, the table on my mill is all over the place. I need to get some new gib strips and square it all up again.

The brass block is currently on my bench waiting for me to get to work on it!
