'13 Callaway X Forged Iron Pics (updated 2/2/13 w/ more Pics)

Irons update!! ..Played one of my Favorite Tracks in St Louis...Forest Park Golf Course! Had good weather with a cold front moving in tonight. This was only the second time I have played the X Forged...and since a month had past since La Costa...I had been changing the swing quite a bit and grooving it some going in to work at GG early. So I was eager to play the X Forged of course, but also to see how the swing worked on the course versus just in the Sim at work.
Well...the irons are amazingly good! Very solid feel and just a perfect mid-high ball flight..penetrating and dead freaking straight! In the mid to long irons I was getting a baby 4 yard fade...works for me. The new swing was super solid with the irons in general and I got to a variety of shots today, big cut with the 3 iron...no problem, knockdown with the 8 iron under some tree's...no problem. Basically could do whatever I needed to do with them with confidence..already! the look is so pure..feel is the same, but the ease of hit is really really easy to pull off! I am not going to go into distance as they are only 1 degree stronger than my TM's, but the distance when hitting the same iron a few times today was spot on repeatedly.

I am pretty sure that all of us were Ctaper, Pxi, or graphite.

these are probably above my play level but I cant stay out of this thread. They are soooooo beautiful.

what are you playing right now? they are easier to hit than you would expect....more forgiving than quite a few players forged cavities on the market.

I went Ctaper in X flex Soft-stepped 1 time, what I have in my TM's. I am around 94 mph with the 6 iron. Love the smoothness of the Ctapers, I load the shaft pretty solidly, but have a shallow AOA with the irons, not a digger by any means. I am very weight dependent on shafts...130 is perfect for me so X flex works best and I love the feel and results.

Correct Lance...good memory!!

Try the C-Tapers... The weight dispersion is PERFECT! The PXI , for me (quicker tempo) are too light

Im a total "feel" playet, and my swing can get REAL quick... the heavier shaft allows for "less" F-U's

I love the feel of the PXi, just too light for me. I think the PXi is a great shaft for those who like it a touch lighter weight. The demo's felt really good to me with that shaft, just had to smooth the club to hit it...luckily they had some in a Ctaper to hit also...though I think I can put Ctapers in anything and like the feel.

[/quote] OK I will, I was really leaning toward the C-Taper having played the KBS Tour shafts that I really like. Any similarity to the Tour KBS? And a huge Thank you to all of you guys answering all of our questions!

KBS Tours are very good shafts, but the smoothness goes to the Ctapers ..50/50 balance points make them very easy to swing, even easier than the Tours, IMO. and the feel is quite a bit softer with the Ctapers. If you have a TM or Mizuno fitting cart available at a store near you have them make something up with a Ctaper and then the Tour and see what you think of the difference.

As to MP53 and AP2...truthfully, these are pretty easy to hit, head is smaller than either of what you listed, but I really don't feel like they are any less forgiving in the X Forged....really don't. Hit them first and decide on your own....

The PXi is awesome!! Hitting the ball like crap right now. But when I WAS hitting it decently, they are awesome. Truth be told, I couldn't hit an X HOt well right now. But it's is 45* outside so I don't put any stock into it.
