Affordable Options in Phoenix Area???????

I will be in Mesa for two weeks at the end of February and I plan to play a lot of golf while I'm there. I plan to play a couple of high end courses but need to sprinkle in a few cheaper options. I have a residents card so I can take advantage of resident rates at most places. Does anyone have tips on good quality affordable courses. I don't mind driving to find them.

Karsten course at ASU. Pete Dye, some nice variety of holes, and it was in good shape last year when I played it.

My advice if you have a resident card re: something with a local address would be to buy the city of Phoenix golf card. It's $50, but you get a free round on day of purchase, so that pretty much covers the cost if the card. Buy it at aguila, it's a really good course, replay is cart fee only and they have a fun 9 hole course too that's free with 18 hole green fee's

Then, use your city card at Papago, huuuuge savings with the card there, and it's in great shape, greens fast and true, not soggy at all.

What price range are you looking for? Stay active in the southwest forums and post up when you want to play, some guys have Wekopa passes that will get you out there for around $70, others have the ob card that will get you discounts at other places, karsten included.

IMO, pass on karsten. It's Pete Dye, so that should tell you everything you want to know lol, except its right by Asu and a power plant.

Dobson Ranch in mesa is a fun muni that's like $26 to walk, just get out early if possible.

Yeah, the ASU course isn't my favourite. But I do like Wekopa and Papago. Where can you get the Phoenix Golf Card?
I'll probably play a couple "expensive" rounds, but I would like to play nearly everyday for at or under $70. Dobson Ranch is typical of what I'm looking for. Any others of that quality near the price?
I'm going to be in the area from February 20 to March 6. I would love to play, I play a lot as a single when I'm down there but I would love to join you.

You can get the Phoenix card at any of the city of Phoenix municipal courses. Don't think Papago has them though.

Look on Phoenix.gov under golf for more info.

Also, aguila is solid, vistal is pretty cheap and a fun layout, tpc champions has a walking rate of like 55

Poston Butte down south is usually pretty reasonable. Nice Troon course.

Not trying to thread jack but others might have this question too.

OB travels discount card, I think its $199.

Im heading out for spring training 8th-13th of march and was thinking about pruchasing the card. Play Raven, McDowell, and We Ko Pa (threesome each round) and then sell the card at a discount.

Question 1: Is it transferrable, how much could you resale it for?
Question 2: How easy would it be for me to find one to borrow/buy from someone at a discount when i get out there?
