I know thats what he meant...I just don't see the point?

It's like saying "good golfers tend to play ProV1's"

Yes obviously they do because its the most popular ball out there and its proven to be better.

Obviously TM is going to dominate the average golfer market because they are the most "viewed" brand with their TV spots, success on tour and appeal to the average guy. Also like I mentioned the pretty much "invention" of weight changing technology and ability to in 3 turns of a wrench put a band aid over your slice helps a bit too.

The term "hack" is all relative. Unless you are the #1 player in the world, you may be referred to as a hack by at least 1 person.

It is just normal to see hackers play with their brand new TaylorMade clubs..IT IS JUST AN OBSERVATION...I have never ever ever seen a hacker playing Titleist clubs...why? because Titleist doesn't target the hackers, they go after the scratch, low handicap golfers. It is just a very high stereotype...all these guys who go out and buy brand new TM drivers and clubs from Dick's Sporting Goods thinking it will help their game...

I have. There are a ton of wannabe "players" sporting a full Titleist bag, at least in my area. There are also some very real players rockin' Titleist as well.

As said before, the high handicap player is the largest segment in the market. What's wrong with targeting them?

Good Point.

Having said that, Im going to make a couple of clarifications...

I made the reference to some "hacker" being outfited with a $500 superquad as an example of getting pushed stuff you don't need; trying to make a sale. My point is that a true beginer doesn't need a $500 driver. If you have the money to splurge on it after you've been playing for a little while; hell yeah go for it! But only because you wanted to, not because you where sold.

Hey, I am not an elite player by any stretch of the imagination and I am not pretending to be anywhere near that; so I am a Hacker. I just want to make it clear that I don't think you need to be one of the "better" player to have the best club you can get your hands on. And technology like interchangable weights, is one of the best things to come out since slice bread. Thats why I have my 2 AWS Hybrids (Rescue Dual Knock offs for half the price, if you ask me ). If I start doing something stupid, I can change the weights and put a band aid on the problem; or if the course dictates a lot of Draws I could set it up that way.

I have put together a nice set of clubs for myself. But I actually have the raincover on my bag almost all the time, cause' I don't want it to look like I'm braggin or flaunting my clubs to impress people on the course or range. "Flaunting" clubs here I think is different, because we are all hooked (regardless of personal capabilities) and we get it. So it's more like sharing, not flaunting. That's main reason we all gather here right, exchange information about the clubs we play or want to play, Pictures, etc.

Thats why I'm hooked on this website...

Why would you have the raincover on THAT bag? I don't see anything in it worth bragging about or flaunting to impress people.

Now my bag, on the other hand, with the Hacker Made equipment....

LOL, just kidding....this whole topic is ludicrous.
