Well I know its a Never comp.......Anser type but larger heavier looking head.

I think his reasons are pretty clear to go back to the belly......he looked at last years stats and decided to return to the belly side.

i haven't seen yet, but at the father/son last month he was using a belly putter milled series #5 and he putted phenomenal. Hopefully big things for Vijay this year!!!

Just thought I would throw Vijay's Stats that I looked up for the last 5 years:

Putts Per Round (rank)

2006- (T47) 28.89

2005- (T108) 29.25

2004- (115) 29.24

2003- (T39) 28.69

2002- (T106) 29.04

Putts per GIR (rank)

2006- (T22) 1.753

2005- (60) 1.767

2004- (T37) 1.757

2003- (T18) 1.741

2002- (T35) 1.751

Now his GIR percentage (rank)

2006- (T31) 67.83%

2005- (4) 70.5%

2004- (2) 73%

2003- (12) 69.47

2002- (7) 70.6%

Those stats show that Vijay hits a ton of greens (not surpising anyone) and that he is slightly above average in putting (also not surprising anyone). You can see that they are inversely proportional (when one foes up the other goes down). In his best year for rank in GIR, 2004, that was also his worst year in putting rank.

Now, with all that said the reason VIjay is not known for his putting is PARTLY because he is such a good ballstriker. When he mishits a shot slighly he will stil hit the green but have a 40ft putt say and therefore that will bring his putts per GIR down because he is not going to make those 40 footer while at the same time hurting his putts per round. But now when a different player mishits a shot they might just miss the green and then get up and down they help their putts per round stats. If you go on pgatour.com (where these stats came from) and look other then Tiger, Phil, and Furyk the top putters are never up there in GIR.
