Phoenix - where to stay

I'm planning a trip at the end of Feb to the area. Plans are to play We-ko-pa, Southern Dunes, and maybe Estrella or Raven Verrado and take in a Coyotes game. Even if we mix that up, it seems like things are pretty spread, so I was thinking about staying in Tempe or Mesa. Any recommendations between the two, or other places I should consider? Thanks a lot.

Tempe....Include Southern Dunes or Vista Verde and exclude the west side courses to make things easier..(unless you are playing on the west side then going to the game after and that is the reason).

I would say you've listed 4 courses that are about as far apart as you can find. All great places to play but you'll be spending a lot of time driving when it could be used hitting the range or even better, drinking!

Southern Dunes is one of my favorites and Wekopa is pretty good too. Maybe pick a couple of other courses on the east side of the valley somewhere and then stay in Mesa. Mesa is cheaper to stay and access to freeways is great.

Take a look on line for condo rentals. i found a place in tempe for $650 for an entire week and it's pretty nice. Also there are some places in scottsdale for about $1200 for a week. You get an entire condo instead of just a hotel room.

Maybe consider Raven Golf Club. Last year I played it and it had immaculate greens. It's near sky harbor so easy access.
Also Superstition Mountain is pretty good.

To drive from Southern Dunes to Estrella with no traffic will take about an hour and 20 minutes. And with traffic it can be a total gong show.

Agree with Raven Golf Club- I played it for $50 with OB Sports card and the course was in amazing shape! Greens were lightening.

If you go for a week think about a condo. Not sure how many people are going or for how long. We started to rent a condo about 3-4 years ago and it is much more economical and more fun all being together. We've been in the Grayhawk area and really enjoy it.

You can also choose courses based on your location. Plenty of courses within 30mins from the Grayhawk area. Message me if you have questions. I have been going to AZ annually for 15+ years.
