Paint Fill Suggestions

This is a Pro Platinum that I just used a thermal polymer resin to make it black. It has a sight dot on the top and a "cherry dot" above and to the left of the word "Titleist" in the cavity.

 

I was thinking like green and white would contrast nicely with the black

 

What colors would you guys do with this?

I like green and white. I have a Circa 62 in the darker finish and I put green and white fill. Looks nice.

Where did you get the supplies for the finish?

I'd go orange and white. And just like underdog above, I also have a darker Circa 62 #2, that I changed the paint fill on. The orange and white contrast nicely on its dark finish.

Looks nice. Can you give details how you finished? Does anyone know if paints will stick to gunkote?

Funny you should mention that. I'm currently doing that on a TeI3. I've done that scheme on another TeI3 before. It looks pretty nice. Here's the one I did before.

Thanks for the idea. I like the way it looks. I'm also gonna put a light green iomic grip on it.

Looks awesome. I used a darker green on my Circa. I think I also threw in some black because the finish is a charcoal-ish.

I'm dying to know how you did the black finish. My Circa has the more durable finish but is starting to get some rust on the heel and hosel. That finish you did would look awesome on it.

I used a thermally cured polymer resin. It's amazingly durable and easy to paint over. Acetone will actually clean it up until it is cured.

It's not Gunkote or Duracoat. I've tried both and didn't care for either.

I also used the saner resin finish on a RBZ 3 wood to make every part that was white changed to black. I think it looks much better in black. I found out afterwards that Phil Mickelson uses a black RBZ 3 wood

It took a few tries to get my technique down, but I can do it pretty well now. I first used it on Scotty Cameron Studio Selects because its a little more difficult to make a pure black. With non-stainless steel, I usually use a hot black oxide which is what I used on that TeI3 I posted the pic of earlier, but Pro Platinums can be tricky if I don't strip the nickel plating completely. It'll leave little specs where the nickel didn't come off. So I users the polymer resin on this one.

Another plus is that it requires little maintenance and won't rust.

The light green and white paint fill really contrasted beautifully. And I added a light green Iomic grip. I'm very pleased with the results of this one.
