Evening All

 

Just a quick introduction to myself. Complete golf beginner (well, started in October last year) starting to play with friends who have been active for around 7 years so playing catch up big time!

 

Committed myself to gaining a sub 28 handicap this year but will need to drop approx 20 shots to do so (big task!). I have spent the last month putting together a set of clubs and taking some lessons to get the basics in order so I can look to develop my game over the next 12 months.

 

I found the site through a google review search for the golf mtrx app and found the thread on here.

 

So, may as well list what I have in the bag as my starter/game improver set.

 

Driver - nike Vrs str8 ft

Hybrid - MD superstrong st2 21'

Irons - 4-PW Nike vrs irons

SW - Tad Moore blaster wedge

Putter - nike everclear E22

 

Pride myself on bargain hunting and managed to get the lot new with a fitting assessment for £340 :)

 

Will be reading the forum for tips and see how my game develops over the next few months!

Welcome, best way to lower handicap is going to be finding a way to get tee shots in play @ a reasonable distance, working on course management to not put yourself in situations where forced to play shots you are uncomfortable with, and most importantly- spend 90% of practice time working on short game. Btw, wedge you have is probably a Tad Moore.

Tad Moore is correct! Todd didn't sound correct but couldn't quite remember ha

Sound advice, I will focus on the short game thank you.
