Laser Link Quickshot (Yes, I Know This Is Old News For Most)

I happen to belong to a club which provides prisms on the flagsticks. So after years of using my trusty Bushnell Medalist I recently picked up a factory refurb "Quickshot" for about a hundred bucks just to see how the other half lives.

The timing was good. In the cold and windy weather we have this time of year it can take two hands and plenty of patience to get and confirm a reading using the Medalist. But with the Laser Link unit, just pop the button as I'm pulling it out of the bag then wave the dot briefly in the general area of the flag until I feel the vibrate signal. No steady hands or patience required.

Not getting rid of the Medalist because some rounds are at courses with no prisms. For for my 100+ rounds a year at home it's great! BTW, I am not a person who has ever had luck "shooting" bunkers or hazard boundaries with a rangefinder. I just can't accurately target an exact edge of something. So I'm totally a "how far is the flag" type user.

Nice to hear, I have a Laser Link Switch coming, which essentially combines the best of both worlds, the original reflective shooting of the Laser Link, and also now a mode for non-reflective targets ala the bushnell's, Leupolds, etc. Should be here in time for the weekend, and will report back after I try it out.

So, LaserLink arrived Friday, was all geared up to try it out b/c the course we played today has reflectors...or at least they usually do. FSGA had tourney there same day and they had all their pins/flags out instead of the course's, and NO reflectors . But, the "normal" rangefinder part worked fine. Just bummed I didn't get to utilize the QS mode yet.

Today's course...no reflectors . Playing monday, I know that course has no reflectors. But I am playing LPGA Intl Friday, I would assume they have them.

It's funny, it seemed like every course I played in the area had reflectors, until I bought the Laser Link haha. But, the RedHot mode works fine as well.
