Ping Darby Isopur - fixes?

Hello there folks,

I'm a late comer to the wonderful world of Golf WRX and was hoping someone here might be able to help me. I was curious if you might have some suggestions / solutions for my back up gamer. I currently use a manganese bronze anser re-release which is sweet, but my original mallet I bought, at a hefty expense, back as a junior 10 or so years ago (the isopur darby) the insert appears to be popping out :( If you strike the insert the putter no longer feels solid and smooth if feels dead or hollow. I attempted to email Ping on the matter, asking about possible repair or replacement of the insert to something closer to their inN line or the pixel technology they tried in the Darby F (isoforce) and I got the standard we no longer have these parts in stock or offer service like that. Little disappointing as I was hoping to put this back in play. I've seen some of Odyssey's on here with swapped out inserts, and I must say they are simply gorgeous. Let me know... I don't want to have a burial yet for something that seems like an easy fix! The insert at the G end of the PING on the face is simply just raised slightly, I was wondering if heated, popped out and reset it be fine. Or if with your help or others I might be able to replace the insert completely with something milled/ or another metal?

I have seen this happen before with a friends putter. Have you tried tapping it back in gently? If you heat it, it is more than likely going to deform even more than it is.
If you can find a machine shop locally they could make you a copper or brass insert if they have the right dimensions.

Yeah I've tried pressing this back in doesn't really remain stuck? Any other suggestions?

Like finchi said I think your best bet is to go to a machine shop and have a pure copper insert made. You will get a similar soft feel and they can make it to exact dimensions. If they are making one with a cutting template you could even buy 3-4 so you always have a spare.

Well with a little steady prodding with a small suction cup the insert slowly came out. Funny that there appears to be virtually no epoxy underneath just one dab right by the P in the ping. The trouble I foresee with this little fella is the roundedness of the insert itself, and the variable thickness at the top versus the bottom. Any suggestions on how to better get the measurements for someone who can machine me an insert.... copper or otherwise?

Front Measurements (taken on the face of the insert)

Across the width of the face I got 1.3 cm, 1,9 cm, 2,0 cm, 1.9 cm, and 1.3 cms

The length of the face was 5.0 cm across the top edge (before the rounded corners), 5.4 cm across the middle of the PING, and 5.0 cm across the bottom.

The thickness on the top of the PING (side profile) is 3 mm top and 2 mm bottom so also on top of it being slightly round box it appears to be a slight wedge shape...

See the pics below... does anyone know if this is close or I'm in the ballpark for finding the right measurements?
