AimPoint Instruction Phoenix

Finally got a chance to do a clinic with Drew at ReidWest Golf Academy. All I can say is -- Wow! There was definitely some moments that blew a hole in my head. Drew is a great instructor. I highly recommend this class to anyone who struggles with reading greens.

Most of what I was doing turned out to cause conflicting things between my eyes / feet / head. Very eye opening experience. I got a digital level and look forward to practicing.

Still working for you guys?

Yes - my speed has been a bit off since I am still convincing my eyes that my feet and the chart are correct.

The digital level really helps for practicing. It's like any other thing ... the more you do it the more comfortable and automatic you feel.

The one other thing I need to do is work on estimating distances just with my eyes. Some times I can't pace the putt since I would be in someone's through line or they are going before me.

yep, putting requires so little thought anymore. when you finally trust the system (and it will take a while!) you don't have to think about putts. that alone is enough to elevate your confidence, but add to that the fact that you now know the exact line to make every reasonable putt, it's worth every penny. my ball striking has actually gotten worse since taking the class but my index is down from just over 2 to 0.5! that's huge considering lately i'm constantly looking at 25ft putts instead of 10 footers.

out of all the money spent on this game, this is easily the most justifiable and one of the few that actually yields a tangible improvement in my stats.

I took the class with chiromikey and agree with this 100%. I will also add it takes a while to really trust it and read gauge slope % and angle correctly. My main goal of the class was to improve my putting inside what I consider to be the makeable range of 20 feet and in. I was really struggling in that area and after aimpoint all I need to focus on is making a good stroke.

I am playing bad right now but putting is the one thing I am not blaming

i am going to do an advanced lesson with Drew this fall some time. Just had a round with 28 putts -- probably my lowest ever.

It's pretty unreal stuff.

if you can get him to offer the class somewhere more central than sun city west, i'd consider joining you...

Sorry for bump but am signed up for the clinic on the 17th at Legacy. Maybe Ill see a couple of you there???

This was pretty worth it for me. Little pricey but if it can shave a putt or two per round then ultimately its a bargain.

Toughest part is feeling 0 line with your feet accurately. Missing it by 30 degrees or by 1% grade can change your aimpoint by up to 6 inches.

Practicing with the digital level really helped.

Also the more you do it the more your eyes and feet start to really link up. Eventually you will start to estimate the line and use the book to confirm.
