Never been fed up with course management as I was today

I've had it with a local course as this is the 3rd time this has happened the last 3 times we booked times at this joint over the last year or so.

 

I booked a noonish tee time today at a course called Bald Mountain which is 5 minutes from my house, and my girlfriend and dad were to play. My dad is 84 and lives about 35 minutes away, and needs to ride a cart. I make sure the day I'm booking that carts were going to be out there today. The course is kinda a dump, but it's a good course for old guys and relative newbies because there's no forced carries, and most of the holes you can roll the ball onto the green.

 

We get there, and we're told they're 15 minutes behind, which is typical for this course. So our tee time arrives, and they are out of carts. As I said, this has happened the previous 2 times as well. The "ranger" goes out to see where the first group is, and when he comes back, they're only on the 15th hole. So we have probably an hour wait for them to come in, and we're also told that there are 3 or 4 groups that are on the course which are in line for these carts before us.

 

So the day was a wash. My dad wasted at least 1.5 hours travelling to and from the course, and my girlfriend and I were relagated to playing their par 3 course which is also on the same land.

 

The fact that this continues to happen at this course just speaks of the terrible management. It's pretty simple math, you know how many carts you have, you know how long it takes for groups to get around, thus you know how many groups you should book within a certain time period so you don't run out of carts. Change your tee times from 7 minute separation to 8 or 9 minutes to accommodate this fact.

Sucks but if people are there and want to play, they are gonna send them out. Courses like that arent ever going to provide a top notch experience, they exist to push through as many people as possible.

That does suck and its crazy about the carts. No such thing as running out of carts here in Florida , they'd probably burn down the course if it ever happend here.

Anyways.... If it was me I think on those occasions I'd book a tee time an hour or so earlier than I needed, get the cart and just say my party is running late.

You want to play where you can go to, be appreciated and play and relax. Any hassles and I wouldn't play there!!!!
