Lake of Isles south course - much different from north?

I have a chance to play the south course and was curious how it differs from the north? I've played the public 18 many times, and have always enjoyed its challenges. I'd assume the south is designed similarly. Would you pay $100 to play it?

I have heard from those that have played it, that is just a hair shorter and a little more open. I'd do it, just to do it. (And will be later on this year).

I'll be playing North on Monday.

I played the South private course last year in the Troon challenge two ball, and it's in better shape than the North public course. I would definitely pay $100 to play it. There are some super nice par 3s. Some tough holes if you are playing for the first time. Need to layup on some par 5s as there is a ton of trouble by the greens, and play it safe and short on 18 but maybe the tees were up for us. Go for it! Need a fourth? Ha

Don't know for sure - a friend knows one of the members, and we'll be playing it twice for a deal similar to the April special on the North. But we have no limitation on when we play the course. Seeing as I've only played the North during the discounted months of April and October/November, it will be nice to be out there in July/Aug/Sept

Played front nine today.

I felt the north course was more difficult. However you need to be more precise with shots on the south

[/quote]2nded. (Although I played 18). It was in good early spring condition. The bunkers were the best bunkers I've ever had the pleasure to take 2-3 shots out of each tie I was in them.

Definitley a shot maker course and must have better control of your selection and placement, neither of which I had yesterday. But I also feel it's more open than the north... wich many times leads to more poor decisions. :lol:

I'd love to play South again before North if given the opportunity.
