They showed it and told the story on The Golf Channel last night. He was filming a commercial. Was supposed to be hitting balls on the range and somebody steals his clubs and he just watches or stands there. But without telling anyone, when the guy came up and grabbed them, he took off after him and tackled him. The actor had a bloody forehead from it. They got up laughing about it. It was actually pretty funny. I was wondering if they were actually Tigers clubs in the bag because it appeared they both landed on the bag and potential for shafts to be bent was very real.

I saw it this morning on Sports Center and was cracking up. Tiger really tackled the guy and bloodied his nose. Funny stuff.

Tiger really has a great sense of humor, I'm just sad you don't get to see it more often, but the media has killed that for us, as well as ever getting to see more from other guys on tour.

Perfect example was when Tiger said he "spazzed out", all of a sudden the UK Media is on him for being politically incorrect.

Can you blame these guys for holding their opions and feelings in like they do now.

Funny stuff...

But can we quit talking about Tiger's speed. I broke down the sprint and it's like a 6.5 40 yard dash...pretty slow. He also got up real slow........

Just kidding, I miss the funny Tiger and Frank ads. He comes across great in those ads like Manning does in his.

During his press conference Tiger said the original add was intended for him to just throw a ball at the guy, but he asked the director if he could chase him instead. He told the actor beforehand that he was going hit him, but Tiger got a little too into it and ended up roughing him up.

Exactly..the full question and answer...

Q. Can you talk about that second commercial they shot, and were they holding their collective breaths when you went and tackled the guy?

TIGER WOODS: It was interesting because the director -- I had an idea because we did the first one throwing the golf ball, and I just think that that wasn't me. If someone took my bag, I would do something a little bit more than just throw a golf ball at him, okay. You guys know my personality. I would have obviously handled it a little differently.

So I told the director, "I have an idea; what do you think if I went out there and tried to grab the bag away from him." He said, "Well, I think it's a great idea." I told the actor there, "You know what, I think I'm going to come up from behind you and I'm going to get you." He said, "All right, I'll be ready for it, no worries."

Well, as I got closer to him I got into it a little bit, probably too much, and I got a little excited, and yeah, he had a little scratch on his forehead (laughter). It was just a little scratch. He toweled off and he was fine.

Its up on ESPN's golf page now. On the site, the outtake is coupled with ESPN commentary from the show "1st and 10." One of the commentators: "Skip something or other" was annoyingly harping on how stupid it was of Tiger to do the stunt because of the injury risks and threw in that this was part and parcel of an emerging Tiger mid-life crisis---Consistent with his penchant for skiing and bungie jumping. The other commentator's "counter-point" was that it was refreshing to see Tiger act stupidly and reminds us that he too has human foibles. This guy then added "Tiger Woods has been so cautious...he is the Anti-Ali---global super-star with nothing to say---this doesn't give him a social conscience all of a sudden but it shows that he's not going to live his life in bubble wrap."

First, the commercial was fine. Tiger is a physically fit athlete who is perfectly capable of rough housing. Yes, tackling somebody for fun might result in unnecessary injury. In all likelihood, it won't. The commentator sounds like one of the overbearing baseball dads who endlessly pressures his kid and ends up making his sons life miserable.

More importantly, the second guy is a complete jackass:

Tiger Learning Center, anyone? An ESPN commentator of all people should know that Tiger has funnelled back an incredible amount of time and resources back into society.

Was it Skip Bayless? If so, the guy's an idiot. Always has been. Even since his days as a sports reporter covering the Cowboys for the Dallas Times Herald
