Played yesterday with winds gusting to 47 mph. Wish the pros had played in these conditions in PGA last year.

But what did you shoot?

The Friday round of the PGA last year was pretty brutal (30+ mph winds)...there were 40 or so players that didn't break 80 that day.

Shot 91. My son (scratch) shot 83.

It was blowing like that the day played it too. Played the tips, shot 91, and felt good about it. Played the downwind holes 1 over.

If I had to play that course every day I'd give up golf.

wow, now I don't feel so terrible. I shot 91 there as well, I shot a 74 at Pine Needles three weeks prior and thought I had a shot at the ocean course. I normally play to a 8, one word sums up that track. HUMBLING...

I liked the place and would go back. I played the Fazio Course (Osprey Point?) that morning and shot 76. Was on a trip with the inlaws and my FIL hadn't booked us a time at the Ocean Course. He plays golf, but was just learning at the time. We ate lunch at the Ocean Course, I inquired about the possibility of playing, they had a cancellation, and 15 minutes later I was on the first tee.

Anyway, I played the Ocean Course as a single and wasn't paired with anyone. That's why I decided to play the tips as I'd been playing good all week, including that morning and figured it would be slow enough as a single surrounded by foursomes.

I'm not typically a fan of modern golf courses and haven't really liked any of the Dye Courses I've played, including Sawgrass. However, the thing I loved about the Ocean Course was that I felt like I was on the end of the Earth. At the time, there was no development around the course and they didn't even have much of a driving range. I really enjoyed it, even though I was stuck playing by myself.

We stayed at the Sanctuary and I thought the experience overall was really good.
