How to make payment?

Don't know if this is the right place to post this..

 

I was just wondering if anyone would tell me how transactions normally take place on this site?

Do you simply pay through PayPal and then hope the person you deal with will ship the item? What if he doesn't?

Or do you get a "bill" like when winning an auction on ebay?

 

hope someone can enlighten me a little.

the deals i've made have been pay w/paypal, seller ships, you receive, win win. everybody here is here because they have a passion for golf, and i hate to think that any of them would pull crap like scamming members.

I'd like to think that ALL deals go smoothly here. BUT there have been problems and no system is perfect.

 

Things to consider when making a purchase here or on Ebay

 

1....Is the Seller "known"? Has he been a member of the site for a long time. Is he active throughout the site or only in the Classifieds.

 

2....Does the Seller have good feedback. We have a feedback system and although it's been in place for quite a long time, I don't think it's been used as much as it should be. Also if he has a Ebay identity, it might be worth checking on that too.

 

3....Are the pictures of the item clear and do they match the description of the item for sale.

 

4....How is the Sellers communication with you (PM/Email). Has he responded well to your questions?

 

5....Are you confident that you are making a good deal. If not, there are thousands of members here and on Ebay. Don't rush into a purchase.

 

6...Last and hopefully it doesn't ever get to this.....Contact a Marshall or Administrator of the site if you should have a problem. We can't promise you a good ending, but hopefully we can help usher a deal through for you.

how have people done straight up trades?

when you do a trade you both send each other tracking #'s. when i do a trade i always check the other person posts here. you can usually tell if the person is on the up and up. i do not have many post here but i have been a member of bsg since early 03 and ebay for longer than that. once you spend enough time on the boards people regognize you more.

Wish I could tell things turned out like I hoped they would but I seriously doubt it!

Not all people on this site are honest after all.. I don't want to give out any names or anything - at least not until I'm 100 % sure I got schrewed.. Still crossing my fingers although I seriously doubt I'll get what I payed for :cheesy:

Good thing students make so much money huh ;)
