Is this a good start

Years and years ago I play an ADX Yonex driver, last year I tried the Ezone 450 and 380 but I was never happy enough to stick with them for a very long time. Now I know there are several Japan drivers out there that found a permanent home in golfers bag so I'm interested in the Honma Tw717 World Tour Driver 460 w/ 10.5 Shaft Regular Flex Vixard Ta55 R Shaft. I've done some research and I believe this will be the one that will win the honors of being my gamer next year and years to come. I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for one as I'm curious as to what people think about this particular driver and how is the shaft as they are both names I'm not familiar with at all especially when it comes to shafts.

I'm parting way with my Adams LL snake skin with Nippon Pro Regio 65 reg. flex shaft as it's just not forgiving enough for me. Gorgeous looking club but my gamer which is a surprise is the new TM SLDR 10.5 with a reg. flex Oban White Kiyoshi shaft. I just feel it's necessary to have at least 2 drivers that I can depend on...so I looked at several different Japanese driver all which seems like more than I want to spend as the the Royal Collection came to mind but decided to go with Honma.

What does everyone think about the Honma driver that I pick out and is the shaft a good match for the head. How forgiving is it compared to other JDM drivers, or other OEM companies and their drivers. I hope my decision was a good one as I wanted to keep it easily under 1K. The weather here in Ohio is starting to change and the golfing day are getting numbered but this weekend I will be hitting my new Honma as I hope it gives me the pleasure of owning a JDM product as it has most of you all here on this forum. Thanks for any and all, pro's and con's all welcomed

Well no one seemed to be able to respond to my thread which I'm surprised but my driver arrived today and it is one beautiful looking driver. It's feels like every hit you nutted it. The sound is pleasant as I wish I had this driver earlier for those hot summer days. Played in the rain off and on and hit 9/14 fairways as this driver is just as forgiving as my now back up TM SLDR

Yeah, not for anything but I've never noticed a lot of buzz in the JDM forums over Honma. Not sure why. You're spot on that they're beautiful clubs.

their new 717m blades... about as nice as any out there. great heavy handed feel & clean at address.

they seemed to have moved from their travino era rep to the current old rich guy rep... and now trying to revive some player rep with the tw line.

dont know on the woods, but damn if their blades arent spot on. maybe they can resurrect some of their cred.

Well if money were no object I could see myself really going wild on JDM driver and irons. Since I don't get out as much as I would like due to work and now the crappy weather is here I'm very please with the Honma TW 717 460 as I think there new line up with drivers and irons are pretty impressive. I've never owned and JDM irons well Yonex Super ADX which my friend still has them as he bought them from me some 15 years ago. So out of all the big name drivers here in the US it just seems like nothing really fit my game till I got fitted for a premium shaft and even then my Honma TW 717 is exactly what I needed and it has been the best driver purchase ever.

Wow I should have never found this website....Lol! Ok this madness has got to stop. I really like the Honma TW717 as I thinking about selling my 2 other OEM drivers as I pull the plug on a Ryoma D-1 Type V 10.5* with Crazy TJ-46 Noir 6.2 flex. I can see the Honma is going to be my back-up driver when the weather isn't so nice. I've heard so many great things about this driver as I have 2 weeks before it arrives and the weather here is ....well the golf season is pretty much over with now. At least I have something now to look forward too for the 2014 season

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
