Houston, we are about to have another new course to play, Atascocita!

I'm pretty stoked, grew up playing this course as much as I could, then joined Kingwood 7/8 yrs ago and got to play it all the time when KW owned it. Great layout!. I've been keeping up with all the BS that's been going on (h/owners fighting with the previous owner, owner getting upset with them and trying to get back at them, ect). But a long time Atasc. resident (bus owner) bought it last yr because he didn't want to see it get turned into something else, redid the CC, and finally found some one to take over the course (never wanted to get in the golf business). Jack Day, who used to manage The Links in Conroe, is leasing it. They are totally redoing the greens/fairways/hazards ect., 1st nine to open in late Nov. 2013, driving range is supposed to ready in a few weeks, not sure about the other 2 nines. Going to stack up nice against the other nice courses in the area.

I look forward to it coming back...didn't play it much, but remember it was a tough course for me, a lot uphill approaches on par 4's. Good luck to them.

Has potential, website and videos are garbage though. Maybe they will hire someone to put some enticing footage/photos of the course online. Not driving from Austin for what I see here.

Any updated information on this? I know they have 9 holes open but that's about it.

I've played there several times, its OK, they've came a long way. Greens are slow, really slow, takes more than 9 holes to get used to, lol. Its a great deal to play, $25 for all day (all the rounds you want to play on the same 9, which is the Shores), definitely worth trying out. They are (according to the membership gal) ahead of schedule on the other 2 nines, should be ready around July 1 (I don't see that happening, as from what I see, they still have a lot of work to do, but I could be wrong).
I'm going to wait to pass judgement till the other 2 nines are ready.

You'd be disappointed driving from Austin to play this course, the numerous courses you pass up coming down are much nicer, lets see how the other 2 nines come in, I'll report back as I'll be playing them as soon as they open.
