Say you got to play a top 5 course in the world. What would you do?

ben: many good suggestions already. I didn't see this one: I would spend a little time looking at the course on google earth.

Helps to get to know the routing, use the ruler to get distances to various points from the tee boxes (helps with club selections and aiming points), take some notes, etc. I have used this numerous times for golf vacations and/or to prepare for tournaments at courses that I do not know that well. But I am the type that likes maps and yardage books....have fun

thank you Mark, I have indeed used that same technique to my advantage before. Played a tournament where I realized a par 5 was statistically better to play from 2 fairways over, and thanks to a lightning strike, a tree blocking that path from the tee box was recently gone. I played that hole -3 through 2 rounds and now there is a rule that you can't play that direction anymore.

this particular course I have been to and have a good sense of the place. It will be fun to be out there as a player!
