How do you save a screen shot of a CL ad, legal purposes.

I need to take a screen shot of a Craigslist ad, and I'm computer illiterate (see members taking screenshots in Deal or Deal all the time), or a better way to save a CL ad. I know you can save a link in favorites, but the poster can change his ad at any time, I need the current one just in case, plus it expires after a while.

 

Here's why, I'm getting laminate floors installed, the guy gave me a quote, and said it includes everything, install, pad, shoe molding, and leveling, if required. After tearing up my floors today, he tells me it needs like 7 bags of concrete float, which is going to be an add'l $400. I tell him he told me that was included, we argue alittle about it and he tells me there's no way, he'd never throw that in as he never knows if it needs it, and how many bags are required.

Googling his co, he's got a CL ad, which has pricing for several options, the last option, he has the price per sq foot (same as he's charging me) that includes everything, with "Free Leveling float concrete prep unlimited bags", I may need that saved as I am not paying him. And no, I don't have a contract, or a quote from him, just his numbers he gave me on the back of my home's floor plan I brought him, and I know, not smart.

'PRTSC' button will take a copy of the screen, which you can then 'paste'

If you're using Windows, in Accessories you should have a Snipping Tool. Use that to draw a border around the whole browser window, and it will create an image of the whole ad. I'd recommend including the URL and date/time for records purposes.

Thx guys, couldn't get the "prtsc" to work for some reason (not the directions, the operator I'm sure), but the sniper worked great, as stated, it captures the date.
Slept on it last night, not going to even mention the CL ad (saved it just incase), going to go ahead and pay him (as we argued back and forth, he kept telling me "no way, I'd say something like that", I told him to get his tools/laminate and get out, he negotiated it to a $200 increase), not much $ when your talking about 900 sq ft of Laminate (it's the lie straight to your face BS that makes you wanna squeeze his neck and tear his head of). Be a better decision, since its prepped (float cement down, old floor yanked up, a lot of the moldings stained, ect), to be nice, and make sure it's a good install, and take the $200 as a cheap penalty for my mistake of not getting a contract.
Contractors aren't all like that (so this isn't a beat up contractors post) as I've had some great ones in the past that were great to work with, but when you don't have a contract, or even a quote in writing, it give the bad ones the perfect oppt'y to rake more $ in, that's my mistake.

Edit/ and no, havn't paid anything up front, $'s due when jobs complete.

Had a feeling there was a better method. I usually prtsc then paste into the paint program.

If you're pre windows 7 like me you can find a handy little tool online called MW Snap. Works like a charm. I usually paste things into Powerpoint, easy to manipulate there.

Hold control then press print screen. Then paste it into pretty much anything you can paste from your clipboard to.

And if he's not making you pay him up front, simply print his craigslist ad and when he holds his hand out for money, hand him the original amount and the printed craigslist ad.
