grafalloy blue and blue tour

can anybody please tell me the diffrence from the grafalloy blue and the blue tour? thanks

 

The Grafalloy Blue Tour was created as a heavier version of Blue (73g=tour weight). The shaft does not play as stiff as the standard Blue and has a higher (4.0) torque compared to 2.8 on the standard Blue.

The Blue Tour is a bit of a strange one in that it has more torque and plays softer to flex than the Blue, despite being heavier.

 

It's an entirely different-feeling and performing shaft. It feels much less boardy (presumably due to the increased torque) and, for me, give a higher flight, the opposite of the Blue, which is a superb bit of kit if you're looking to flatten out your ballflight without going to a head with very little loft.

Information for Grafalloy Blue Tour X-Stiff .350, I bought one recently on EBay (Proshopwarehouse):

I had a Blue Tour about 3 years ago. The listed torque is 4 degrees. Proshopwarehouse is incorrect. The Tour is more of a mid launch shaft with much more feel and snap then the original blue. It plays about a flex softer then the original.

 

They list the regular shaft as a 4* torque and the X-Flex as a 2.8* torque

Probably true. I picked up a used driver with an X-stiff Blue Tour on a lark (and for a song). Seems like it feels and performs similar to typical "stiff" flexes from most other brands.

I would agree with the statement that the Tour plays softer, man can that thing go crooked in a heartbeat. but oh well, it's in there until it breaks. It's probably too noodly, but it still works okay. I would rather have the regular blue or the red, but I will stick with what I have.

Just a note about that shaft...
When it first came out (the Blue Tour), Grafalloy recommended tipping 1" in a standard bore. They later backed that off to no tip trim. I purchased one when they first came out and tipped mine 1". It still felt differently then the Blue, but 1" made quite a difference.
Probably would make a nice FW shaft.

Added info - I currently have 2 retail Grafalloy Blue shafts in R and X. And, Grafalloy Blue "Tour" shafts in my Driver and 4wd. "Tour "S" and "X" versions" are 75 grams with 3.5 torque, where as standard Grafalloy Blue "R", "S" and "X" each are 63 grams with 2.8 torque. When I say the Tour version is more stout then the retail version - I am not joking. The butt section is like rebar... What attributed to Grafalloy Blues stiffness isn't only the butt section though, it's a 2" tip section on both Retail and Tour. Grafalloy advised not to tip either version unless... "your knuckles are dragging", my words. :lol:
