Rocketbladez Tour Cast Irons - lie angle help!

Was out of the game for awhile after I needed wrist surgery, and was excited to get back on the course...

Starting out the season I've noticed my irons are producing divots that are not as clean as they should be. I have divots that are toe deep and start on the toe end. My dispersion has not been what it should be either.

I knew this was a lie angle issue, and even though the same irons have worked fine before, I'm guessing my surgery or swing has changed slightly. So, I took my clubs in to a local fitter that I have been seeing for over 10 years and they confirmed I need 2 degrees more upright.

My wrist to floor is 38 and I am 6'3, going through the fitting this also confirms that I need more upright irons. Here is the catch, the Rocketbladez Tour irons I have are cast, not forged. The fitter told me I was out of luck.

I call Taylormade and they say that they CAN adjust my lie angles. I needed to ship them to TMAG and they could do this. I call my fitter back, who has been repairing clubs for almost 30 years, an older guy, he states they are lying and this wont do any good. I wonder if he is correct or if Taylormade is being truthful. Can these cast irons be bent to a lie angle that is more upright?

In years past I know the answer is no, and even if they are bent they have attendance to spring back to original specs. But are the newer cast irons capable of being adjusted? Please help! Thanks!

These irons are actually pretty easy to bend, and 2° should not be a problem. I ordered mine 1° up and when my own swing changed due to injury I took them to 1.5° flat. They won’t bounce back to where they were either. If you have time to send them to TM then that’s the safest course - If they happen to break one they know where to find another!

That's flat out BS from your "fitter". Heck, Ping cast are some of the hardest to bend, but you can usually a few degrees one way or the other. Send them to TM if it makes you feel better, otherwise find a different "fitter".

I had my cast iron (Wilson Deep Red II tour) bent 2 degrees at Golf Galaxy. They did state that there was little risk of cracking. I had them bend it anyways and it came out great..

Most places don't want to mess with cast, because it can crack or snap. I'm guessing if they use heat, they should be able to bend it.

Agree 100%. I have a set of RBladze Tours kicking around in my backup set, and have had them bent pretty easily before. Seems like an old codger who is set in his ways, and drank the Ping kool-aid that "you" can't bend their irons.
