2016 Swing (96fps)

Would appreciate advice. First two swings were from last summer, came over the top with out to in swing path pretty strongly. Feel like I've corrected that somewhat but still don't think I have a consistent enough swing.

Have broken 80 twice this summer and shot an even par 9 holes, so I don't think I'm hopeless, but I do find it hard to make significant changes in my swing. I do plan on getting fitted at some point as I feel like slightly longer shafts (6'3) and a different angle could help my posture at address.

Thanks!!

Closer and more upright at addres.

More hip rotation in the backswing.

Earlier and more wrist set in the backswing.

Shorter arm swing.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

Thanks a lot I appreciate that.

WIll work on those, could you elaborate on the third point?

The exercise/drill/whatever you call in in the video below will give you a good feel of what the hip turn in the backswing should feel like.

Ahh I've seen Mr. Clements videos before but never came across that one, perfect. Thanks a ton, pretty sure my mom has resistance bands laying around at her house.

The background music is so hyped i just texted my boss that I'm quitting my job to play poker for a living.

Backswing is just too long as arms continue swinging long after body rotation is finished. Earlier wrist set will help that.

Agree with all of Monte's suggestions.

The face on P6 shows your hands are behind your body rotation.

You probably do need longer clubs, but the clubs will feel taller when you stand closer :)

Your shoulder line should be inside your foot, say the base of your big toe area, not in front of your foot.

I'm not so sure you benefit from the flip flops. Even Running shoes would be much better.

Learning to manage the right arm is the key. Vertical right forearm at the top (P4) with hands just outside the right shoulder is a good place to start as it helps limit arm travel and makes the next move easier. From there it's bending (dorsiflexing) the right wrist and rotating the entire right arm clockwise to delivery (P6). You need to feel your upper right arm move more on top of your right pec early in the DS ... right now it's internally rotated and stuck to your right side, causing you to run out of right arm at impact and scoop with your right hand to get the club head down to the ball.

Your pivot and your forearms rotating CCW from delivery to impact will square the clubface as the left wrist unc*cks and the right wrist maintains its bend.

Easy peasy ... lol.

Looks like you could benefit from the GG legwork videos. Check out George Gankas (I'm assuming you haven't heard of him because if you have tried to work on his positions you would not look like that at the snapshot P6). And the 30 second mark shows that you had casted the club which was also showing at P6.

I was able to get rid of that using both Malaskas' teaching and also GG which helped improve my legwork (and not to mention hitting it further feels a lot easier too). One is more driven from the ground up and the other is more emphasis on the hands. Both work for me as I'm hitting my old school Nakashima NP-1 9 iron 165 yards flush (155 avg). But the GG swing can get it to 170, not when I swing out of my shorts, but when I manage to sync everything correctly plus sweet spot. My 9 iron was going 140 (130 average) before I started working on this. I realized I was doing a outside in path and also very armsy and casting as well. It's a night and day feeling. Most important thing that I learned is putting the swoosh after the ball, not at it.
