Shout Out to Raybon Putters !!

I want to share my experience with dealing with Raybon Putters https://www.raybonputters.com/

They're out of England, I first heard about them here on Golfwrx, after reading some of the reviews on their putters I decided to contact them to see about having them make me a putter

I exchanged emails with Gary at Raybon to see if they would be willing to make me the putter I had in mind & after numerous email & drawings supplied my Gary I finally decided to place my order

Gary said it probably take 4-6 weeks on his end to make me my putter, one of the things I wanted was a finish they didn't normally provide but he said they had a coating supplier who should be able to do it

After about 5 weeks I contacted Gary to see how things were going, he said they were waiting on the coating supplier to return the head, about 3 days later I received a email from Gary saying the head came back, but the coating wasn't up their standards & the head was going back to the coating supplier to have them redo it

A week later Gary emailed me saying that the head came back again & the coating wasn't acceptable

He said they could start making me another head but he would understand if I decided to cancel my order. After waiting close to 2 months I decided to cancel my order & look at other options

Gary refunded my money the same day I canceled my order

A week later I receive a email from Gary saying they would like to make me my putter at no charge for my order getting screwed up, I told him I couldn't accept that being that they were a small company just getting off the ground, that I appreciated their generous offer but wouldn't want them to feel that they needed to do that

Six weeks go by, Wednesday night I get home from a week up in Canada from a fishing trip & after driving for 16 hours in which I'm totally wiped out from my wife tells me I have a package that showed up that day

I open up the box & find the putter that I had previously ordered from Raybon & note from Gary saying this is a gift from them for the screw up on my order

I was SHOCKED to say the least !!

I sent him email saying how impressed I was for not only the putter but by the fact that they wanted to make it right & were willing to do something that most companies wouldn't even dream of doing, again I told him I wanted to pay him for the putter & again he refused

He told me to enjoy it & sink a ton of putts which I plan on doing

This putter is very special to me for what it represents & for the character of the people who made it

All I can say anyone who's thinking of ordering a custom putter you would be hard pressed to find finer people to deal with then the guys at Raybon Putters !!

Here are few pics of the putter they made for me ..enjoy !!

Wow. That's incredible! I've been following them on IG for a while and have been interested in reaching out to them. What is the shipping cost like to the states? (I know it was a gift, but I assume you paid shipping on the original order.). Your story makes me doubly interested in their putters. When you get a chance to roll it, please update us on how it feels and rolls! Looks like it should be easy to line up!

    The price includes shipping ..

I've rolled some putts on a practice green today & it feels great

It has a very solid & firm feel to it, just the way I like my putter to feel

You're absolutely right this putter lines up great ..very easy to line up my putts

It puts a really nice roll on the ball

I do know that if you do decide to order a putter from them they will do everything possible to make sure you're happy with what you ordered

You're absolutely right ..I think it goes beyond impressive !!

I've got a little story, after I initially cancel my order with Raybon I decided to contact a custom putter manufacturer that's out of Calf. that gets allot of press here on Golfwrx

After a couple of emails back & forth with them trying to get info on a couple of putters along with various finishes I received a email suggesting that I give him a call

I asked when would be a good time to call & if he had a direct line to contact him ..never heard back

Sent another email asking the same question ..never heard back

Figured business must be booming for them & they didn't need my business.

I decided if this was the kind of service I could expect then I'd pass on their putters
