What to expect for changing shaft for XXIO fairway and hybrid

Hi guys.

I have a xxio fairway and a hybrid which I bought for my late father. I spent close to $600 and they are barely used. I brought them to a course and like the heads and feeling. As XXIO is a light club, I need to slow down to swing the club or I would have a hook. I'm wondering about buying shafts and replace them. Obviously, clubs are very light compared to others and swing weights need to be adjusted and so on. I have emotional value on these clubs so I do not wish to sell them. What would be a good way to use it for my game? I have about 95 swing speed for my driver.

I got some quality time with the XXIO crew at a 2016 golf expo, and XXIO is all about light.

XXIO operates off of a head and shaft matrix, not adjustability. The idea is you use the matrix club that fits closest to your swing, not that you swap out shafts and adjust lofts.

You noted, I have emotional value on these clubs...

I don't mean to be insensitive, but warm memories won't put your drives into the fairway. I would suggest you sell them, or trade the clubs for a store credit, and get something closer to what you need.

If the golf clubs has he sentimental value to you and the monetary value is of less concern, Keep them and you'll eventually slide right in like a custom fit. I have some golf clubs from my father which I'd seldom golf with but like you, I'd keep them.

is correct on the assessment if you want to recover some of the cost of these golf clubs. Light weight head with light weight shaft combo will be hard to swap out the shaft, not entirely impossible but you'll need to find out if you could add weight to the head to accommodate a stiffer and also heavier shaft is advisable to add internal weight to the head without compromising the integrity of the structure of the head. My father's golf club are sitting n the bag, and I do take them out once in a blue Moon.

Thank you for your reply. Monetary value is not my concern and like most of you, I have multiple backup clubs. I was debating whether I should put these clubs in use by changing shaft and swing weight or wait until I get a bit older. I guess that I need to wait a bit more to put them in my bag.
