Wedge Lie Angles for Different Swings (Swings/pitches vs. chips)

My instructor recently had me bend one of my wedges a couple of degrees flat, to see how it works for me (my irons are all flattened). My flattened wedge does not feel good on longer pitches and full shots (ball likes to go right), but does feel nice on chips. My theory is that the longer my swing, the steeper I'm coming down on it, while chips/short pitches are done with lower hands. Does anyone have a similar experience or knowledge about how wedge lie angles are chosen during fittings considering the many different swings involved?

I had a very similar experience - short chips and pitches with flatter lie angles than irons. It did make a difference. Ended up changing on my highest wedge (56*) due to all the others were more important to keep for full shots for me.

I use the same effective lie angle throughout my entire set including woods. Flatter lie angle on certain clubs is overthinking it just open the face up or get a high lofted lob wedge. Even if maybe it helped me on short chips (which it doesn’t), why would I want to risk messing around with my scoring clubs that I’m gonna need to take full swings with.

I play around 1-2* upright in just about every club through my driving iron, but cannot go any more upright than a 64* lie angle in wedges (which is pretty much standard now). It is a trade off, as I'd actually prefer to chip with wedges at around 63* lie angle, but 3/4 and full swings would suffer if I did that.

I think this is where I am at this point. I feel like with the wrong lie angle, my 3/4 and full swing really suffer, while my chips don't as much. The last thing that I want to feel is that I won't be solid contact on a 50 yard pitch shot. The only oddity is that I like my irons 2 degrees flat but my wedges would be standard.
