Golf Digest Demo Day...2009 Experience Tour

Carlsbad March 7th and 8th

I notice this demo day that will be sponsored by Golf Digest coming up on March 7th and 8th. Just checking if anyone had any more info to share on it with me. I am going to be in Palm Desert that weekend and was thinking about doing the 2 hour trip into Carlsbad.......Also, how is the driver from PD to Carlsbad?

drive from Palm Desert to Carlsbad is long and boring. I would guess about 1.5-2 hours. on a saturday, that should be ok. if you're by the 8 fwy I would take that then actually you would need to go north on the 5 when you get to it. otherwise, it's 10-60-215-15-cut across 78 to 5 then north to Carlsbad.

Carlsbad golf center is actually spitting distance from TaylorMade-Adidas Golf headquarters. you could check it out but there's not much to see unless there's a tournament close by (see pros going in and out of that place like crazy) or you can go behind the secured doors.

have fun! if it were during the week I'd go, but weekends are for the family.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. i look forward to this every year and was worried when i didn't see it coming to Orange County.

Carlsbad is only half an hour away though.

Also going to be at Champions Gate in Orlando on 3-28/29.

I am thinking of going or going to Bay Hill to watch the Tour.

Did you ever end up going to the event? If so how was it? I never been to a any demo day at all but this one looks like a big one. I'm planning on going to the one in Chicago @ Cog Hill in a few weeks. Looking at mx200's so wanna hit the Mizuno booth. I hope it's worth my time. Do shaft companies hit these up? Hoping to try some different shafts if they don't have options on the mx200's.

Did you go. I also plan to go up to Cog Hill this Saturday or Sunday. I want to get a proper fit for the G10's and also it be nice to see how the ball react off the club since the Golfsmith I go to there stuff if broken and I dont trust that stuff anyways and every person that fits me get's a different fit. I only want to buy from them since I have a $400 credit to spend but I need a bag and some new balls so maybe I really don't have to buy from them.
