Mizuno M-100 questions

Recently got the itch to try my hand at a little bit of an at-home "refinish" of a putter (before I send it to Colbert so he can do it the right way...). So thanks to the BST, I was able to scoop up a Scotty Cameron Mizuno M-100 The Reason.

I didn't really have this putter in mind, but I just happened to see one on the Putter Lounge's site and really liked it. After the refinish, it looked amazing. Then, as if a sign from on high, one just popped up on the BST, in pretty good shape, for a great price. That was all she wrote...

So now, I have to figure out what I want to do with it. As it was kind of an impulse buy, I didn't do my due diligence in research as far as the specs of the putter. I'm pretty sure it is carbon fiber. But is it plated? Can I refer to general restoration topics/posts with regards to refinish tips for carbon fiber putters? I'm thinking "no" if it's plated.

Just looking for a place to start, I know there is already a LOT of great content on this site with regard to restoration advice, just want to make sure I'm heading in the right direction. It has a tiny bit of surface rust, a couple of small digs, but other than that, is in good shape with what looks to be original finish and paintfill(will verify with previous owner).

What I really want eventually is the North Lights finish from Colbert with white paintfill, I think that would be really sharp. Just want to see what I can come up with in the mean time. Any and all advice is welcome!

It is a carbon steel putter, research on here about gun blue refinish, easy,inexpensive and matches original finish.

I Guess the next question would be is it plated carbon steel? Cause if so, I don't believe many of those methods will work.

Edit: Just reread your post, specifically "...matches original finish" so I assume it is a non-plated carbon steel

I'm pretty sure it is non-plated. The first plated SC stick is Mil-Spec.
