It's amazing to me how many people like the TaylorMade ball.

Has anyone seen the seam on this ball??? It's like a mm thick, by far the widest on the market!

Sure its soft and goes a long distance, but talk about inconsistent accuracy issues. If anyone knows anything about golf ball manufacturing, its that a seamless design leads to a truer, more consistent ball flight. That is why every manufacturer is trying to go seamless or have at minimum a "staggered wave parting line."

Also, why Bridgestone is the best ball in my opinion. They have the patent and are the only golf ball manufacturer out there that does not seam two halves together to make a whole. They inject their balls into a pre-formed mold for the only truly seamless ball on the market.

While the golf ball manufacturers are constantly striving to make a better, more consistent ball, do you really think any player would attribute "inconsistent accuracy issues" to the golf ball (rather than their swing) ???

And do you think these "inconsistencies" could even be detected by a player ?

I think not.

BTW, have you TRIED the ball ??? Or can't you look at the wide seam ? :)

Who needs to (or wants to) try the TM balls?

After all, they are made by TM!! That is all I need to know in order to avoid them. I don;t like their woods. I don't like their irons. I hate that they come out with new club several times per year and the latest debacle with their Tour Burner driver and teh price reduction after only a couple months is ridiculous. All power to those who love them or get paid to use them but I just do not happen to fit either category. They play deceptive marketing games and I do not appreciate that so will not send my money towards their coffers to encourage such acts. The lack of my dollar will never hurt them so not like I am making some bold statement or anything. I just will never play them. Maybe something in my bag is made by soem parent company they own - I don;t know. As long as nothing of mine has the TM name/logo on it, that suits me fine.

I read somewhere that the Taylormade balls were designed with input from one of the designers of the original Pro V1. If you recall, the original Pro V1 had a very pronounced "seam" and there was a way to orient your ball with the seam so that you'll gain a few extra yards. Maybe that should explain why the Taylormades have quite a pronounced seam.

I am responding to the original post....I played Pro v1x, and the ball that replaced it

is the Callaway Tour I...its an awesome ball...low driver spin, and as a reviewer once

said " it sticks like snot on a mirror" on the greens....also, very soft too, softer

than the HX 56 Tour..please try it, you won't be dissapointed

I have bee closely following this poll ever since. I noticed that the numbers for the Bridgestone balls are starting to climb up and catch up with Taylormade, especially since their announcement of the 2009 B330 series of balls.

To those who said they replaced it with a distance ball, can you guys explain what distance ball you decided on and why?
