FG 100 Tour blades reshaft

Have a set of FG 100s I acquired that are shafted with a stock graphite shaft W/S offered but it’s really light for my liking. Was a long time Px user but now graphite is my friend due to old MX injuries and being 50. Looking for insight on adding weight to existing setup or do a total reshaft. Thanks in advance.

Add lead tape. If you don't like the result, you may have to go to a heavier graphite shaft.

You most commonly add it to the head. You can also add lead tape to the shaft. Add it down the length of the shaft with equal amounts on either side of the fulcrum point (14" from the butt end). That will give you an idea of whether it is shaft weight that is the problem.

I’ve used tape quite a bit in the past. I added it under the grip on a putter once and loved it. What would it do if one added it under the grip instead of on the shaft as you described? > @Socrates said:

Those are awfully nice looking heads to be sticking lead tape on. Personally, I would reshaft with something in the 115-125 range. Make sure the SW them prior to assembly so they can add weight with tip weights if it is needed. I have several sets of Mizunos with graphite shafts that are all weighted with [these tip weights](https://www.golfworks.com/rubber-tungsten-tip-weights/p/gw0121/ "these tip weights"). I go with the 10 gm because you can always trim some off the get the weight exactly right.

Good luck!

It would not affect the SW very much and give you a better indication of whether a heavier shaft would be of benefit. Just adding it to the head or the butt has much more of an effect on SW but does nothing about giving you an idea of whether the answer is a heavier shaft. I would add weight to the head first and try that. If that doesn't work out. Remove the weight from the head and try it on the shaft. Once you have an answer, you can proceed in an appropriate manner.
