HZRDUS Smoke Yellow vs. HZRDUS Red

Was wondering if anyone’s done a direct comparison between the two shafts specifically in fairway woods. I just got fit for a HZRDUS smoke yellow 60 X flex in a TS3 driver and am trying to find some info between the two for my epic flash subzero 3 wood.

The yellow is a cb shaft and the red is a hzrdus black with a softer tip. Two different profiles.

@GoGoErky That was what I was slightly worried about. I want whatever I choose for the fairway wood to be a similar profile to the driver but with a higher launch and spin. So because the smoke yellow is counterbalanced it will have a completely different feel to the red?

Yes. The red is going to have the same feel as a black but offer slightly higher launch and spin so where black is low/low red is a mid/mid.

 

The yellow is a low/low but because of the cb with have a different feel. Some play the same shaft in both driver and woods and others play different. I’ve done both and for me usually a cb shaft works well in both.

This might sound strange but I have a Hzrdus Yellow 70 in my driver and use Nunchuk's in my woods and hybrids. They are both counter balanced, and both tip & but stiff with a softer mid. So a very similar flex pattern. I pick up the Nuckuk's on Ebay for $80-100.

 

You could also use the heavier version of the Hzrdus smoke yellow.

@rx7mark I am planning on going heavier with the fairway shaft, the yellow 70 or red 75.

I'm planning one going with the HZRDUS Red for the 3-wood. I haven't found anywhere that I can try it yet though. Would anyone be able to make a recommendation on going with the X-stiff or Stiff? My SS is around 105 and from what I've found the original HZRDUS line seems to play stiffer than the HZRDUS smoke line.

Didn't test aftermarket HZRDUS Yellow or Red because I couldn't find a retailer that had them instock, much less for 3wd. So I bought a new aftermarket Red 65 6.0 and suprisingly ended up putting it my driver. Now, I am looking into a heavier 75 gram HZRDUS Red possibly Yellow for 3wd.

I am new to HZRDUS. Is black 62g middle of the road? I wish their website was more intuitive information wise.

Aftermarket OEM HZRDUS Black is low launch low spin. That said, I have a Black Smoke "S" in the garage and it feels very different vs aftermarket OEM Black. My 2cents.

I had great success with a HC Red 75 6.5 tipped 1/2” earlier, but couldn’t stand all the red on the shaft.

 

Found the TI black shaft with the red graphics in the same specs and will be building it for my TS2 next week
