Bethpage in June or July

Hi guys we are looking to do a Bethpage trip this summer, we are looking the end of June or July, we would be from out of state and are looking to stay in the parking lot and try to get a tee time.

I guess my questions are what are the chances we get a tee time online for a Friday on the black?

How early do we need to be there on Thursday to be guaranteed an early tee time on Friday or for any tee time on Friday?

How busy are the other courses, and which ones are must play? Any other courses in the area we need to play?

Also if we stay over in the parking lot is there a restroom or a shower available?

Any other info you could give us that’s would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

i've been twice and visited during the week, and getting on as a solo was easy (T/Wed) ... assume friday is difficult ... know you want the weekend for travel/job purposes, but being there on a Wed ups the factor considerably (closed Monday) ... far as other courses, the red course is outstanding and worthy of a play if you're in the area, regardless of intent to play the black ... red course is worthy of playing multiple times, matter of fact ...

In case you are not aware, out of state can reserve 5 days in advance.

Get an account and look for cancellations as often as you can refresh your browser. We went on a weekend last year and managed to get a cancellation so didn't end up having to sleep in the car.

If you do go the parking lot route, you'd need to be there by about 7PM for a weekend if you want to be sure.

If the forecast is good, yes. When I was there last people were lining up starting at 6-ish.

Are there restrooms for people that stay over night? Sinks?

how bad is traffic getting there? We will be coming from PA on interstate 80. Thanks and appreciate it!

the Drive from pa is a breeze. I’d recommend driving Thursday evening past 6. From state college it is around a 5 hour drive. When it comes to tee times best bet is trying for online, knowing a ny resident, or getting there early. As you plan on staying over night you should have relative ease as it’s almost an honor system in the morning with the people in parking lot. I believe people start to arrive at 4 and then Door Opens around 5/6. From my knowledge there are no showers for over night guests. If you have a gym membership just go to a local one

You will most likely not be able to get out Friday. I have played it a few times and I am also from out of state (Delaware). Yes, you can make a tee time 5 days in advance, however they will all be gone because in state residence can make one 7 days out. If there are spots available it will be late afternoon and you will definitely not finish your round. I think your best bet is to either camp out in the parking lot (Betehpage Inn) or try to play with a NY resident. We are playing this June and we are going to camp out in the parking lot for the full experience. If you are one of the first ones, you will get the first tee times of the day. I hear it's just like one big tailgate party in the parking lot the night before. Good luck and enjoy the course, it's amazing!!!!
