19 degree 904F with closed face?

Does anyone else own a 19 degree Titleist 904F? If so, is its face considerably more closed than other Titleist fairway woods you've seen? I ordered one several weeks ago and it seems to have an incredibly closed face. I'm trying to determine if this is how it was intended to be built or if it is a manufacturing defect. I intend to take it back to the retailer and get their opinion. If it's a manufacturing defect I imagine they'll exchange it, but if it isn't is there a way to bend a fairway wood to a square position?

Now, As you can see my club is really clean, I have only used it twice, I still have the 980Fs in my bag. I know everyone thinks these 904's are great, but honestly I hit the 980's so much better, they are way more forgiving for me.

 

I know this is weird, I have played some hard to hit clubs over the last 25 years, but the 904 has been honestly the hardest club ever. Way harder than the old PT's

That's strange, I find the 904Fs to be the easiest FWs Titleist has had in a while. But I can see where you are coming from. When you get used to a certain type of club, anything else just doesn't fit.

 

BTW, let me know when you want to sell the 904F 19, I'll give you $125 for it.

It is more than likely the leading edge in sticking out. Mine does it to, but it is not closed, it just kind of looks like it is. Put the face against a flat wall or something to make sure or not whether it is closed.

If you look at the alignment aid, it is also "closed" in the picture but parallel to the face. Therefore, align with the aid and you'll be perfectly square.

I had a 15* 904F and it was easy to hit but all it would hit was right to left shots. I much prefer the Nike T60.

The improved CG location slightly decreases dynamic face closure enhancing the high initial launch angle and helping produce optimum ball flight.

 

If anything, it's saying the face is more open at impact.

i had the same problem. i thought it was a closed club too, but i realized that when you ground the club, the CG near the face causes the club to close up a little. if CG was in the back, the club would lay back a little look square.

i could be wrong.

 

i agree with demolition man though. 904f's are easier to hit.
