SC California series vs Odyssey Black Tour Series

Anybody hit both sticks? How do they compare in feel?

I have gone back and forth with these only because I love to have a Cameron in the bag. The California is a very nice putter, but IMO the Odyssey beats it in looks(love the black vs the gold), feel and roll. The tungsten on the back of these blades really works and puts a great roll on the ball. It also seems to add to forgiveness if you miss it on the heel or toe. The Cameron is soft but the milling on the Odyssey seems to make them feel even softer. If they said Cameron on them they would already be in the bag.

I have been demoing both of these along with the Black Tour Ix, I love the looks of the Odyssey's it's now a straight choice between them and I'm leaning towards the Ix as I'm wanting to get back to an insert putter.

I'm waiting for the Black Tour Design 2-Ball Blade. It will be replacing my Button Back.

Odyssey Tour Black is a better putter IMO. The style, color, feel, craftsmanship is far superior to one of scotty's worst designs (the california).

I really wanted to buy the California Del Mar, but when I was at the shop, I tried the Odyssey Black Series Tour Design #9 as well. I have to say I left with the Odyssey, I felt better, rolled the ball better and had a nicer finish... and I´m a Cameron guy, never really liked Odyssey.

Now let´s see if the Black Series Tour Design #9 can kick the Fastback out of the bag.

Definitely best off demoing both. I've rolled every version of the Odyssey #9 and settled on the White Hot Tour last season. This year I switched over to the SC Del Mar because to me it felt better, looked better at address, and put on a more consistent roll. Chances are I will pick up a Black Tour Series when funds allow and let it go head to head with the Del Mar. But in any case, these are all great putters and you'll just have to pick the one best for you.

and where exactly are you trying the ix? i thought those were japanese only putters.

i have both the california series del mar and the Black Tour #9.... my wife bought the scotty for Christmas and i just don't like the feel, compared to the Black Tour #9.... The odyssey to me feels softer and i had a xg#9 prior to these so i was already used to the look of the odyssey.. but i can't bring myself to sell the scotty since it was a gift!! it may make it into the bag one day!!!

Demoed both. Bought the Odyssey Black Tour # 4. I already own a Cameron so
I wanted to try the Odyssey. Wow!! this putter is becoming my favorite putter of
all time! I am making a ton of putts. I am lagging well with this, I could not be more
happy with my purchase. This putter just rolls the ball nice.

I would go with the black tour. It is fully customizable for free when you order from oddyssey where as cameron will charge you for these services, and it is $35 cheaper.

In terms of feel, I liked the black tour better. I also like the look of the black finish better. The gold finish turned me off.

I was also considering the 2010 bettinardi bb series, but they are hard to find.

I was about to pull the trigger on a black tour...BUT...I settled on a mizuno bettinardi bc1. $99 from golf smith, and they bent it flat for me.

After a lot of testing and discernment, I finally went for the Odyssey Black Tour Series # 6.

Played with it for the first time and was very happy. Felt nice and rolls better than my Rife.
