I had a merchandize certificate to use in the pro shop. So I asked the pro whats the difference that he saw in the prov1 to the prov1x? The answer he gave me was that there is no difference in the distance off the driver but that the noticeable difference would be in more spin into the green with the prov1. So there you have it and I got a few sleeves of my usual prov1's.

The ProV1 will spin more around the greens and slightly more with the driver. However, the 2012 version of the ProV1 will launch slightly lower than the ProV1x.

The V1x is slightly longer for me, but as a whole I like the ProV1 more. I like the added spin, and I find that in more cases, I'm longer off the tee with the V1 because the trajectory works better for me.

So if you want a lower flight and more greenside spin, grab a V1. If I need a bit more distance off the tee and can give up some spin around the greens and need a higher flight off the driver. Grab the V1x.

I had played the x for years and recently received the regular v1 as a gift so i gave them a shot. Was surprised but I am scoring much better and actually think I am getting more distance with the driver. Not sure if it is the launch angle or if i actually needed more spin to keep the ball in the air longer. either way, loving the result.

I must be the opposite as the Pro V1's just fall out of the sky off my driver. I really think the Pro V1x is the best ball for me, but have several dozen Pentas to use up first.

I almost switched to the x but always liked the prov1 better. The reason probably is that the prov1x 2011/12 is a 107 compression ball compared to a prov1 for 2011/12 is a 99 compression ball and fits my swing and feels better.

I've found pretty much what everyone else has found and what the box says.

Pro V1X doesn't spin nearly as much off the driver. I actually find it fairly tough to work it. It goes STRAIGHT.

Pro V1 definitely spins a bunch more around the greens.

I actually don't find much difference with iron spin. For me, the difference there is marginal.
