Bobby Grace Putters

I was just browsing through the Macgregor site looking at the Bobby Grace V-Foil line of putters. It's strange because all of a sudden, I want to switch to a MOI putter but I don't like all the other offerings by other brands and this seems like such a logical yet simple putter. But my interest was not satisfied at the site.

For all those who know a little or even a alot about these putters, I have a few quesitons.

1. What is the difference between the GT series and the MOI series?

2. Are the 'heel' shafted models still face balanced like a centre-shafted version? (sorry all US people for my Australian English).

3. What are the legnths of the M5K and the M6.4K putters from front to back, i.e. the length of the aligning line?

4. How does the insert feel compared to an Odyssey White Hot? (I used to own a White Hot #5 until my dad 'borrowed it)

5. What is the RRP? Please state the currency

Thanks for your patience. I need to find out all I can but it might be best if I tried them out. Problem is, I can't find a stockist! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Josh

GT has holes drilled in the side rails: increases MOI and it has silver color bands to aid with alignment. I think the shafts are a bit different too, but I am not sure.

My heel-shafted MOI is not face balanced, but the GT might be different.

I don't have my putter here, so I can't measure it. You could check the MacGregor site, they might have the measurements (sometimes they supply a "fact sheet" with detailed data).

The insert feels medium soft and has a nice sound to it. Good distance control. I'd say the Odyssey White Hot is softer.

I think retail is about $200-250US, but you can get them a lot cheaper off ebay (that's where I got my M5K MOI).

I can recommend it: not so pretty but a very good putter.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am probably going to get one because I just recieved $2000AUD or around $1650US from my school for a Legal Studies Scholarship image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dntknw:' />.

My problem is that I can't really try them out so I need to find out the the various sizes of the head so I can make an informed decision. Once again, thanks for the replies and have a safe and merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The M5K is 3.5" from front to back and the M6.4K is 3.75"long.

M5K is also 3.5" wide and the M6.4K is 4" wide.

I also see that they come in different lengths. Does the weight of the putter vary depending on the shaft length to achieve the same swingweight or is the weight standard and only the shaft length changes (i.e. If I buy a standard 35" M5K GT and cut the shaft to 33", would that putter be exactly the same as a brand new untouched standard 33" M5K GT?)

All I can say is WOW! In all my efforts to find a retailer recently, I find out that my home club is a retailer. They have only been one for a week so its convenient. I'm getting a heel-shafted 6.4 GT. The feel is absolutely amazing and it's just a great all round putter. Definitely underated.
