Recommendation of a Used Clubs Retailer

I wanted to share my recent experience with a purchase of some "used" TM Burner 2.0 irons (4-PW) from Dallas Golf.

I wish I could buy the latest $400 driver or $1,000 irons.

But, the reality is I can't, so I look for deals and shaft/head combos that I think might work for me.

 

I had been looking for Burner 2.0s for awhile, and when they popped up at Dallas Golf last weekend, I pulled the trigger.

My expectations were definitely low for the price paid. I was basically hoping the heads would be decent...

 

I was expecting the clubs tomorrow, but today, the doorbell rang at noon and I found them at my doorstep!

The clubs shipped from Texas to Wisconsin via UPS Ground in less than two days.

 

The real shock came when I opened the box.

I had been expecting the "HP" or "high polish" version. Instead, I got the very slick gunmetal version.

Near as I can tell, the 9-iron and PW of this set were used as demos.

I don't think any other club in the set has ever been hit!

And, the promo stickers are still on every club!

 

This was my second purchase from Dallas Golf.

The prior purchase was two Adams hybrids that were in great shape, too.

So, for the club 'ho on a budget, I can't recommend Dallas Golf enough.

My past experience -FWIW.

1.Global Golf- Marks clubs Good, Very Good, Excellent and Like New. EVERY club I've ever gotten marked Very Good could easily pass for Excellent if not Near New.

2. Clubfinders Golf- Call them, tell them what you want and they will describe what they have. Never been wrong.Sometimes they will describe three of the same club and prices.Then it's your call.

Not saying any others are better or worse. I just deal with these two because I always feel like I know what I'm getting.

A "new" Nike VR-S driver was shipped to me with shaft wear, a dirty face, etc. Another fairway wood I purchased had been beat to all get out. While they run great deals on shoes and other things, I'll never, ever, never, ever, never ever never ever purchase another club from this vendor.

Indeed! They have a fantastic reputation, so I was surprised when I had two poor experiences. The customer service folks were spectacular in handling my returns, but other than that, I was 0-2 in purchasing used clubs from that retailer. I'm originally from NC so I REALLY wanted to support them; however, it just didn't work for me. I can't knock the success of others; however, I can't recommend them due to my personal experience.

Wow, never had a problem with global golf...I echo the fact that their stuff in "excellent" condition could pass for brand new.

I'm a huge fan of Dallas Golf too. I've bought Cameron Putters - and an array of drivers -- and every time the condition of the club(s) exceeds my expectations!

That was my first of two Global Golf purchases, i.e. "fool me once, shame on them."

i live outside the US and do most of my used/new club purchases thru ebay and have easily had more than 50 transactions these past few years..

knock on wood but all of them have arrived exactly or better than described..

of course i do my due diligence on all transactions and have always relied on the ACTUAL pics of the items i get..
