True. KG's writings are well written and many times I agree with him, but sometimes he just needs to stop after couple of those. If people have not changed their minds by that time, it is pointless to continue. Regardless of how many degrees you have.

Who said anything about changing minds?

I learned a long time ago that (like in debates over politics and religion) it is waste of time trying to reason with people who hold to ideas for irrational/non-rational reasons. If someone is holding onto an idea for emotional reasons, you will NEVER change their minds with appeals to reason.

Never.

Sometimes it is simply about puting a stake in the ground and not backing away from it. Sometimes it is about standing up for a principle. In this case...simple fairness. Because---if you don't---things said often enough...no matter how inaccurate, unfair, hypocritical, or outrageous will start to crowd out what the facts are.

It is a door that swings in both directions.

But I find that the need to "ignore" someone's posts simply because you disagree with what they have to say, says more about the "ignorer" than it says about the "ignored".

No one has pointed out that a single mother at Rollins is more likely to be much more well off than a single mother at the local state run university. Rollins is private and damned expensive.

As for Elin getting her degree, that's great. Good on her. I think from the introduction it was pretty clear Rollins was playing up the "single mother" angle and Elin mentioned it herself. I am not complaining or anything just an observation. Rollins can select who they want to give speeches at their graduations and had reason(s) for selecting Elin. I mean she had a lot on her plate. Tearing down and building a new mansion along the Atlantic Ocean down the road from Tiger, dating rich guys, etc. You know the problems all single mothers have.

Because if someone is unwilling to stand up for a principle in a setting like this---where it costs you next-to-nothing---what makes you think they are going to stand up for a principle when doing so can cost them dearly?

I do it because it is the right thing to do. I do it, beause that's who I am and its what I do whenever something happens to someone around me that offends my sense of fairness.

Anyone.
She gets no props for that.

Tiger is the one that made sure that she and the children were left alone.
How did Tiger do that?
By aggreeing to let them leave the country for awhile.

I assume he was awarded JOINT CUSTODY of the children...and if that's the case....Mother is NOT going to be able to just run off to Sweden with the children without the consent of the other parent.

Not to mention his absolute iron-clad refusal to speak to the media about what did---or did not---go on in his family.

Like his father did for him when he first came on tour, Tiger made sure the media circus centered on him.

....like when a 30 year-old hottie marries an 80 year old billionaire.
Funny you say that cause Elin is now dating a 55 yr old billionaire chris cline. Like I said before she is like a God in gold diggers community, she has done nothing to earn any of the wealth.
So you suggest that she find some 30-something working stiff that would be attracted to her for HER money? I think not. So this guy she is dating has billions to her millions, in the grand scheme of things, it isn't that much of a difference.

It's like the guy that yelled down to Steffi Graf when she was serving at a tourney, might have been Wimbledon, "Steffi, will you marry me?" She yelled back, "How much money do you have?" That is a very relevant question to ask.
How quickly people forget that Elin was a NANNY when Tiger married her. Granted she was from a mddle-class background...but Tiger very much reached BACK and elevated her status.

A "favor" that women almost never "pay forward" when they become wealthy.
John Kerry is the only one that I know of that married up. From his own admission.

When Tiger won his first tournament, after his father passed, he threw himself in Stevie's arms. Stevie was a bit shocked at first and then, hugged Tiger a lot tighter. It wasn't his job, he was sharing his friend's pain.

Then, Elin walked into the picture and Tiger went to her.

Her body language was SCREAMING: Get a hold of yourself, you're embarassing me!

I knew then, their love-birds ship had sailed a long, long time ago, and it wasn't coming back.

Some of the most beautiful people in the world are just not meant to be together. That, IMHO, was one of those situations.

New grad Nordegren: "I'm happy for Tiger"

May 21, 2014

After receiving her bachelor's degree earlier this month, Elin Nordegren explained in an interview with People Magazine that she is happy for her former husband, Tiger Woods, and his new girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn.

"Our relationship is centered around our children, and we are doing really good - we really are," Nordegren told the magazine in an interview that will appear in the June 2 issue. "He is a great father."

Nordegren and Woods were married from 2004 to 2010, and the couple have two children together. In the interview, the 34-year-old made it clear that she supports the new relationship between Woods and Vonn, who made their courtship known to the public last March.

"I'm happy for Tiger," Nordegren said. "In general, in any kind of step-parent relationship, I'm happy that there's someone else loving my children."

Nordegren gave a speech at the commencement ceremony at Rollins College in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month, where she received a degree in psychology after graduating with a 3.96 GPA. She is currently dating Chris Cline, a 55-year-old coal magnate, and the couple recently moved into a house in South Florida together.

"I have moved on, and I am in a good place," she said.

Yeah, her life is so tough. I just can't imagine how to get through life on a miserly 100 or so mil. It also must have been tough dealing with all that support and public oupouring of empathy to her. Not to mention having to find a nanny to do all the housework in her mansion and to look after the kids while.she goes to college. Good on her for facing down all.these challenges, life just doesn't seem fair but somehow she got by.
