Elin's Commencement Speech...

Yes...that Elin...and she graduated today with a 3.96/4.0. Considering we really haven't heard her talk, it's interesting to hear her words. Nice shot at TW, too.

Education is always good, 9 years is a long time to plug away at it. The Standing O was a bit contrived as one guy stood up and then nothing for a few more seconds, like they had to be pulled up from there seats.

Question is now, does she even consider taking a job?? If she did, why??

She may be the nicest peron in the world, who knows, but I'll bet there are better, more relevant stories to be found among the evening degree program students who earned degrees.

True. But she's a lock to be a "Significant Alumnus" for Rollins.....and they're already thinking ahead. Fundraising is important and apparently she runs in the crowd that donates.

I get people hate to see when people might not "deserve" an honor or award but step back for a second and look at the facts:

1. Global embarrassment and humiliation
2. Very rich can and will no doubt be a donating alumni
3. Hot
4. Rollins gets more PR
5. She has an interesting story that people want to hear.

She's also a role model for two young children and the fact that she pursued a degree shows me something. As it's been said before, she didn't "need" to do this and it took her forever but you have to give her credit for not just taking classes but putting an effort into getting good grades.

While it's doubtful that world peace will result from her speech, kudos to her doing it and the bit of humor injected.

Clearly a fundraising ploy for the college, but so what? That's what the Board of Regents is supposed to do. Wealthy alumni keep the school relevant. No, it wasn't even the best celebrity speech given this week (did you guys see Kevin Durant's MVP acceptance speech... you should) but it was a good PR move for the school.

Elin is the perfect example of that crass saying no matter how hot she is, someone is tired of ____ing her. I think she is strikingly beautiful... and it really seemed Tiger had it all. A smoking hot wife that was devoted to him and his kids, who was obviously more than just an empty-headed model. I'm an unashamed TW fan, but he's made some huge mistakes and messing that up was definitely one of them.

Academia has traditionally recognized those students who worked hardest. That doesn't seem to be the case here. I think folks are just pointing that out.

Rollins is a very good school. Several of my family members went there and the children of a couple of friends also!
