Colorado Springs Golf Courses

My thoughts on a couple of course in the area.

Murphy Creek: Nice layout, greens are in good shape but it can get pretty windy there (played there on Tuesday in 30MPH and gusting higher)
Red Hawk Ridge: Fun course but play with someone who knows the course. I recall a good amount of blind tee shots.
Bear Dance: Love the course. Every time I played it it's been in great shape.
Kings Deer: A links style course - haven't played in a few year though.

Green Valley Ranch: Home of the Colorado open
Riverdale Dunes: My favorite course in Colorado (so far)

Green Valley and Riverdale Dunes are quite nice, but they we a solid 90 minute drive from Colorado Springs. I think Kings Deer is closed or in very poor condition based on what I last read.

Bear Dance, Red Hawk, and the Academy will be three great courses.

I believe you are correct as I recall reading that somewhere in my searches.

All three are on my play list. Only one in question is the Eisenhower course @ AFA but I think I got a connection or two now that might be able to get me on.

Ridge at Castle Pines North is another good course, little too pricey for me though. Used Golf Now a couple years ago and I doubt I'll play it again. Red Hawk ridge is a blast, lots of downhill drives and only a couple up hill.

king's deer is open again, no idea about current conditions though.

Red Hawk Ridge is a fun course with a lot of elevation changes. Golfnow after 1 pm is a decent rate.

Plum Creek is across the interstate from Red Hawk. Tried to play there last weekend, but the weather (rain, hail, tornado warning) closed the course.

Arrowhead is a little north of Red Hawk and is a very scenic course.

Four Mile Ranch is south west of Colorado Springs and I consider it a hidden gem. There is no club house, but the course is fun to play. Some hole can be a little gimmicky though, but a great value overall.

I would stay away from the Colorado Springs city courses like Valley Hi, Patty Jewett, etc. They tend to be pretty crowded with a lot of members/league play.

How did your trip go and what courses did you play? I'm being stationed at Fort Carson in June 2015 and am already doing the research on local courses. Hope you hit em well!

If you're military, play Eisenhower, Blue course is a great one.
