Where should I play twilight near Honolulu

Only got one pass for a round during vacation with the family. I plan on playing a twilight round the day that we fly in. We are staying in the heart of Waikiki

Any suggestions?

Looking for a middle of the road course - better than muni that won't cost me a leg!

I've been to waikiki a couple times and am not really an expert, but if you are looking for something close to Waikiki I would recommend going to Koolau or Royal Hawaiian if you have never been to either one before. They are both jungle golfing courses with great scenery, but are a close 15-20 min drive from Waikiki, and have been to them a couple different times during Monday - Friday and they are usually dead and is no problem getting a time. Maybe more busy on the weekend with the locals, but dont think it would be an issue getting a time at either one.

If you want to venture farther out I would recommend Ewa Beach or Royal Kunia for good middle of the road ones. Both are around a 30 min drive from Waikiki, but the traffic does suck in Honolulu Monday - Friday so I would also take that into account if are travelling on the freeways around 3-6pm.

Call up to Turtle Bay on the North Shore.... Saw some of the best sunsets ever up there while finishing up play.
about an hour from Waikiki and bring the family up with you . Turtle bay has a nice beach area on the north end of the resort and it is free with free parking.

Ko Olina is about a half hour outside of Honolulu/Waikiki area and was beautiful when I played it last summer at twilight. I'll definitely be playing it again this summer when we're there! Wherever you play, enjoy!

Another vote for Ko'Olau or Royal Hawaiian, here. Without traffic, you could be there in 20 minutes from Waikiki.
Pay close attention to the traffic and the time you're leaving. Any departure from town after 2 pm is dicey. A no-traffic 40 minute drive to Ko'Olina or 1 hour to Turtle Bay can easily turn into 2-3 hours with traffic. Also keep in mind that sunset in Hawaii doesn't push much beyond 6:30 and some courses have hard stop times at 6 pm.

Yea def pay attn to your start time. I know at Ko Olina in July, they recommend starting no later than 2:30 to get in a full round comfortably.

Eva Beach Golf Course. Always well maintained. Shorter course but tons of trees so you have to make shots. If you want to play a beast of a course play Ko Olua or Royal Hawaiian.

Ko Olina is an ok course not really that many great holes.

Turtle Bay Palmer Course is nice but not for the price when locals pay 95 for two rounds.

Navy Marine GC isn't that bad well maintained and the best green on the island IMHO.

I left the island one year ago this month and my favorite course on the Island was the Klipper which is on the Marine Base. The reason is because of there signature hole #13 which is right on the ocean. Only course on the island to have a hole on the ocean. I don't count the par 3 at Wailea CC Call the pro shop and see if you can get on to play. Note: I played every course on the island but the Ernie Else Course.
