Fourteen Golf RM-12 Wedges?

Recommended Posts

Was thinking of getting a new set of wedges to go along with my new MP-54s. I currently have the SM4 Vokeys but wanna try something new and have read some reviews on these RM-12 wedges being good, wanted to know in your opinion if you think they are great wedges or not? What you like or don't like about them? Thanks

Only ones I was really considering were the Miura and Fourteen because they are more accessible, but good that you mentioned other brands cuz I wanna stay away from the mainstream clubs

I just ordered a set of these after seeing them in so many bags on the LPGA tour. There are quite a few on the PGA tour but it makes sense that if they work for the ladies then maybe I can have a chance. I know that's weird logic but I like the fact that they're forged instead of cast and look to have beautiful craftsmanship as well as nice grinds. They are supposed to deliver tomorrow so I will have a go with them this weekend and let you know my thoughts.

FYI - I'm a long time Vokey guy and have bounced from Clevelands, Ping Eye 2 and Ansers. I have high hopes for these babies and have a feeling they will be in the bag for a while. I've had that feeling many times so hopefully this is the ticket!

I have played Vokeys myself and just thought since I got new irons why not get new wedges, especially since I have a gap to fill and saw these and they look awesome. Please let me know how it goes.

I've played Cleveland TG's it seems like my whole life and was needing a new set of wedges. I've been spotting the Fourteens in some tour bags and got curious. When I finally got a chance to hit them I couldn't believe how they felt and responded. The look at address is really close to the 588 Cleveland's but the spin and feel are unreal. I got the black ones and love the non-glare design. The clubs are absolutely beautiful. My only issue was how quickly the black finish is coming off, but what is left behind is kinda cool looking. Anyways, I highly recommend them! You won't be sorry.

Sorry for being ackward on last post..lol.
IMO, it's a great wedge with stock shaft(DG). Perhaps the balance which make a different for me and so give better judgement on distance control. As the size and shape it's just like Cleveland CG line so I don't expect much when I bought it but on course it performs way better for me than my other wedges(Cleveland/Titleist/Nike). It might looks like just regular wedge but it worth to try.

I have a 53* and 58/08 in raw finish with Black Onyx S400 TI and I am really enjoying them. Great feel and predictable spin and I really like the raw finish. I was playing tour issue ATV's that I really liked as well but the Fourteen's are much better for my game. Really no adjustment period at all.

I picked up a used RM-11 52 degree on ebay at a great price and just love the feel of it. I have a lot of Vokey wedges but this has that softer feel .

[/quote] I found them way short, but admit they spin well. I have the 588 forged, and the RM-12 was consistently 6-7 yards shorter

I have the 52 and 56 in the black/raw finish. I like the grind on the sand wedge a lot. You can open it up easily, plays from sand well and like others have said they spin well and have a good feel. I wouldn't say buttery, but it is no off the rack vokey or cleveland feel either. I think the grind is the best asset of them though and they are an all around really nice wedge and in my bag for the foreseeable future, but I have wanted to try a gekku wedge.

On a side note, I got the fourteen fh1000 blades after liking the wedges so much on a whim for a used set and I hated them. Sold them after only 3 weeks after 5 rounds and range time. I wanted to like them, but I just hated them. They were hands down the most forgiving blade I have ever hit though, distance on mishits was noticeably un blade like......then again so was the look at address and feel...
