Tulsa area: Clary Fields or Page Belcher/Stone Creek?

Has anyone in the Tulsa area been out to either Clary Fields or Page Belcher/Stone Creek lately?

I haven't played Clary Fields in over a year, so just wondering what kind of shape it's in.

I played 9 holes on Olde Page a couple of months ago and they had trouble spots on the greens on the front side. I would think with our heat wave the Bermuda greens at Page Belcher should be the best (public) in town.

Any recent reviews of conditions at either of these course?

Thanks for any input.

I haven't played either in over a year but a friend I trust played Stone Creek last week and said it was in horrible condition. That would concern me because the greens are only 4 years old. I liked Clary Fields when I played it a few years ago because of the funky layout and blend of design cues, but it could be hot or miss on maintenance. I know Clary Fields has also had ownership issues, but I can't speak to it's current condition. I know it's in a different price range and a drive for West Tulsans, but Forest Ridge is in great shape right now. I have heard that Cherokee Hills and LaFortune are doing well also.

Thanks for the input Brettasaurus ... I can't believe Page Belcher is having problems with these greens that are supposed to be great for our summers ... maybe it didn't get hot enough quick enough, this year??

I played Forest Ridge about a 3 weeks ago and was a little surprised at the green speeds ... I'm not "usual" out there, but my recollection is that the greens are VERY fast and found them only marginally fast (there were true, though) ... Are they holding up to this heat? I am going to be playing with a mid- high- handicapper who is a little wild off the tee, so I was worried about Forest Ridge for him.

La Fortune may be a good option.

Anyone else have a report?

[/quote] I am a member at Golf Club of Oklahoma and Forest Ridge still seems tight and pretty difficult to me. Part of that is that is the narrow par 4s and necessity of hitting a draw off the tee on some holes. If you are playing with a mid/high handicap golfer who is wild, then I would suggest Southlakes, which is in good condition. I played out there recently and other than fuzzy and slow greens, it was in good shape.
