i have one on the way, i like the black on the bottom but would prefer to strip only the top, being in chicago i have a couple months to decide and tinker before i can get out on a course

Im pretty sure stripping only one side is going to be almost impossible

Guys,
So I'm having a problem with one screw coming off my squareback.. Could I submerge my whole putter head in greased lightning or oven cleaner to get rid of the red anodized finished? and then submerge it again to get the red paint off? Please advise. Thanks

I didn't remove mine. Just spray the oven cleaner all over the bottom.

The oven cleaner will get the red paint off, but still leave the other color on the plate.

Yes, that should work. I actually used paint stripper on all the paint after the oven cleaner removed the red.

Take the paint off first. Othewise the red will be revealed after removing the paint.

I assume the paintfill is on top of the red anodization. If you remove the paintfill there will still be red anodization UNDER the paintfill.

I just removed all the red off my Fastback plate. (The Easy Off Heavy Duty took it right off in about 10-15 minutes). I would like to leave it silver (Although the black and white combo looked awesome!) and just do blue like I usually do on my other putters, but I'd like the cross on top to be white. What would be the best way to paint just the cross on the plate white? I have the tamiya paint I use on the "regular" parts of the putter, but I have a sneaking suspicion that won't work for the aluminum plate. It actually looks pretty cool just silver, but would like the cross white i think. Any tips would be appreciated.

I'll post pics when I'm done

I would think you could use a tough spray paint like Krylon and spray the top of the sole plate so that the cross alignment aid would show white once installed through the milled out area of the flange.

You wouldn't really want to paint it. You would do a polymer just like i did on the plate. However, you would just mask off everything but the cross, the spray on the white polymer, remove the masking tape and cure it in the oven. Then once that is cured, you would just mask off the cross that is now coated in white polymer and then apply black polymer to the bottom of the plate, remove the masking tape, and cure it in the oven.

Then you could have your white cross with a black bottom on the sole plate. You can do this with whatever color polymer you can find and make the cross and the bottom two separate colors.

Do you have a link to a particular product you used? Is it kind of like a spray paint you put on then bake it? I've been trying to research it, but must be searching wrong cause I'm not coming up with alot of results. Any links or anything would be appreciated.

As a side note, I did try spray painting it this weekend with a Valspar Spary Paint/Primer and it turned out ok I guess. If i was going to keep it with spary paint I'd probably re-do it, but just curious of that will hold up.

Heres a picture of the paint and the turnout of the plate. The pictures don't show, but its a little uneven. I think I might have put a few too many coats of paint on, but still looks pretty cool. Only unknown is whether that will hold up or not? But I think I'm gonna strip that and start over to make it a little more even (Small case of OCD which is not a good thing with putter customizations). But I'll do that and do the other paintfill and post pics of the final product.

I think it looks great. I have noticed that the dots come out better when I use less paint fill.

Spray painting the site plus sign alignment came out good. It should hold up just fine as it will never be coming in contact with the ground brushing it or the ball.

Just get the coats consistent how you want it and you should be good to go! I too know what you mean by OCD!

When you remove the plate, the cross hair comes out with it. Then just apply the color you want
