CENTRAL FLORIDA GOLF OUTING THREAD!! Tranquilo or Southern Dunes?!

Hey guys! So last year wasn't necessarily a success, but I'm going to try this again, in hopes we can get well over 16 guys out this time around. Last year's event was held at Disney's Magnolia course, where it rained miserably for the first 9 holes. I'm thinking maybe this year we could do something at either Streamsong or OCN. OCN has some pretty good stay and play packages, and Streamsong, well, we know how expensive that can get. I'm leaning more towards OCN and maybe we can do both courses? This thread is for ideas as far as courses, maybe some of you have connections where it would make more sense to do it at a certain place. Thinking Saturday 8, 15, or 22 in November. Let me know which one is good for you, and I'll get a list put together.

What about Tranquilo/Four Seasons? They officially open on 10/24 and I've heard that they may be running a locals special for a month or so. I always liked Osprey Ridge so I would like to see the remodel.

11/8 and 11/15 work best for me.

11/15 or 11/22 is fine for me as well. OCN or Four Seasons would be fine. As CKZ said, It'll be interesting to see the remodel for Osprey Ridge. I always felt that Osprey was the best Disney course and was disappointed that Disney sold it.

Just got off the phone with Kimberly from golf sales. They require over 15 golfers to give the group rate, and I think we can double that number. Is November 15th good with everyone? Please let me know. PM me your name and number so I can put a list together for Kimberly. We're looking at a real good rate if we get the guys together, let's make this happen!!!

That Tranquilo rate seems high and I think that's going to keep some people away. I don't mind paying it but, as locals during this time of the year, we could pay ~$40 and get out at OCN/Grand Cypress/Grande Pines, etc.

So about 5-6 so far. Need 6-7 more!!! If I can't get members to let me know for sure by Friday, I'm going to have to tell her to book the time. Depending upon the time, I'm in. It turns out i have to work very early in the morning until about 9am. But after that I'm free. Price isn't a concern for me that much. One time playing Tranquilo at that rate won't bother me that much. Unless the course is fantastic they wouldn't get me a second time at that rate. For Florida its pricey at this time of year.

I'm thinking to change to Southern Dunes guys, just drove by the property and the course looks absolutely stunning. Heard greens are perfect. Rates will be a lot less than Tranquilo. Is everyone okay with the change to SD?

I'm good with Southern Dunes. Their site only lists the rack rates; any idea what the resident rate is?

I'm waiting on a response from their director of golf about resident and group rates.

Around $60-$70 for Southern Dunes. This seems like a bust. I'll lock this up. If anyone is interested in playing some weekend hit me up, always down to play.
