shafted at Golf Galaxy!

Ok title says it all, I wanted a Regular V2 stiff in my launcher comp and the stores shaft fitter tells me to get a high launch for better feel. Anyways, I went with his recommendation and its wrong. I can't hit the damn club because the yarn shaft flexes too much. I swing 105-110 with a hard move. The shaft feels over loaded and I can only hit high hooks. I have a regular v2 in my 3 wood and love it ! Is there anyway I could get the shaft changed to the V2 I originally wanted ? Anyone had this problem too ? :D

Go back. Be a firm customer. You'll get the V2 you wanted in the first place if you show that the reco'd shaft is wrong for your swing.

Be realistic here and realize that no one ever forces you to buy anything. Obviously, you feel a little upset because of what happened, but unless things have changed in retail I'm pretty sure no on put a gun to your head :russian_roulette: an forced you to buy the other shaft. Go buy the original shaft that you wanted and suck it up.

I don't understand why that's valid at all. There are plenty of ways to be cheated without being forced to buy something with a gun to your head. For example, if you go in intending to buy a shaft and the store's expert (well, "expert" in this case) gives you FAULTY INFORMATION that causes you to buy an ill fitting product. According to your logic, since there were no firearms involved. this was a legitimate transaction. Sorry to get off topic.

I think you should definitely go back. If a store has employees who claim to be experts (or at the very least, the ability to do their jobs) and they not only fail you, they steer you from the correct product to an incorrect one, I think you deserve some sort compensation. Whether or not you'll receive it is another matter entirely. Good luck!

well actually from his story(from what he posted), looks like that club fitter didn't give out any FAULTY INFORMATION, he just gave him an opinion that V2HL have better feel. Its just like people here asking other members about certain shaft they played with. Faulty information would have been if club fitter told him V2HL is 80 grams with 2.5torque.

There's not much you can do, unless you want to talk to that club fitter about that shaft he suggested. That's about it.

For me, if I went into the store and wanted V2 shaft on my driver(because I've used the shaft before) and if someone said V2HL feels better, I would ask if I can try that shaft out before I buy it, if not I'll stay with V2.. rather than taking a chance.

I went to galaxy before I bought this shaft, got fitted with the callaway system and tried the V2 in 8.5 like my head. I had the best launch, Sorry dont remember numbers. Well the guy who fit me, told me dan is the man for shaft info. We then went over to the man, and he fitted me with the maltby system , V2 was in there. I said V2 over two or three times. He insisted High Launch!!! I personally know I already hit the ball high enough. I asked will this cause the ball to have a higher ball flight than the regular ? His reply was no, just more feel because it has a softer tip section. I said alright, because of the underlying factor that the ball wouldnt be higher. Now the ball goes up and down, I could probably spin it backoff a green if I wanted to. :russian_roulette: I am going back, and I will get what I want!!

Say you go to a car dealership to buy a minivan to haul the family and stuff in. The salesman persuades you to buy a sweet sports sedan - after all, it has four doors and a good-sized trunk. You get home, and quickly realize that the child seats don't go in and out easily, and the trunk is pretty much full after putting a set of golf clubs back there. What you now have is a used car that poorly fits your needs and probably a pissed-off wife.

This is a similar situation. You decided to take the clubmaker's advice and wound up with a poor fit. The store is not liable for your decision at all. In the interest opf good customer relations, they might reshaft it and waive the installation fee or something like that, but they are not required to do so by any means.

Chalk this up to experience. Next time you decide to tinker with your clubs, go to a place with knowledgeable staff and make your own decisions.

Glad to hear you got what you originally wanted, but I still stand by my original thoughts(especially since your now blaming them for your wedge purpose). Most people who work at a galaxy are part time folks and really are not experts. Many of them have the same qualifications that most people on this site have....they love the game. So in the future stick with you original gut feeling. Not to mention when a guy tells you a High Launch shaft won't hit the ball higher maybe you should leave because he really doesn't know much. Leave your wallet in the car next time!
