Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy captured a wonderful shot of the International Space Station (ISS) crossing a crescent moon. The shot took a lot of preparation, involving him driving out to a remote part of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona to set up his gear in 105 degrees (F) heat.

Lol. It's not quite like changing the oil in your car out in your driveway. Cosmonauts Dmitri Petelin and Sergey Prokopyev perform a space walk outside the ISS to deploy and activate a radiator. The spacewalk took five hours and 14 minutes to complete.

No idea. I'd lean on the safe side and assume anything on Twitter is suspect. Lol.

Thanks ... subsequent to me sharing that twitter link... it seems that Twitter has appended a "Fake News" clarification w.r.t. that Jupiter's moons video, with the notice

"Readers added context they thought people might want to know:...This is false, this video, created by Kevin M. Gill is a composite of two separate sequences showing each moon’s path across Jupiter’s surface." (alongside 3 source Links)

 

... so Twitter does seem to be making effort to scrub "alternative facts" in posts, albeit with a time-lag.

JO206, a type of galaxy known as a "Jellyfish" galaxy, is located 700 million light-years away in the constellation Aquarius.

Galaxy NGC 7292 lies ~44 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus. This slightly disheveled galaxy is irregular, lacking the distinct spiral arms of galaxies like the Whirlpool Galaxy or the smooth elliptical shape of galaxies like Messier 59.

The BepiColombo mission recently captured new images of Mercury during a close flyby. BepiColombo, a joint mission by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), made its closest approach to Mercury on Monday June 19 at 3:34 p.m. ET. The spacecraft was at a distance of ~146 miles above the surface at its closest.
