What effect does it have

I recently bought a set of RAC MB TP's with Rifle flighted 6.0 shafts which I fitted with New Decade Multicompound grips.

Although they have a relatively heavy swingweight D5 they seem very light overall. In fact my PW is 20g lighter than my previous wedge and my 3 iron is 10g lighter than it's equivelent (MP30s with S300 Duel Durometer grips). Both sets are standard length.

I tend to be more accurate with the MB TP's.
The MP TP's are 5-10 yards shorter
I tend not to "feel" the club as well through the swing with the lighter club, which I believe affects my rythm.

Would fitting Project X 6.0 increase the overall weight of the MB TP's.
Are the head weights equivalent.
Is there a way to increase overall weight (other than lead tape).

If you are sure the MBs play to a D5 swingweight and are 20 grams lighter in total weight, the only real answer is that the shafts are lighter. However, Rifle 6.0 is one of the heaviest shafts, and I do not know of any shafts that weigh 20 grams more than that! Something doesn't add up.

 

Maybe your old clubs had heavy tip weights and weights at the grip end to counter this and increase static weight. I have to say, I am a bit confused by this!

 

The simple answer is: If the heads feel light, add lead tape.

Total 171g +/-3.5g

 

Dual Durometer 50g +/-3.5g

DG S300 130g

 

Total 180g +/-3.5g

 

Potentially there is a difference of 16g (183.5 - 167.5).

 

Does anybody have the standard headweights for Mizuno MP30's and Taylor Made RAC MB TP's

Those are the raw weights of the shafts. Don't forget that they are trimmed. Also remember that rifle and DG shafts have a different flex point and ball flight. To me, your problem is more to do with feel than number crunching. You are more likely to get a similar feel by putting DG shafts in the new clubs. 4 grams of weight is neither here nor there. Most pros wouldnt even notice that if the swingweight is the same.
